SOURCE: 2002 Kia Spectra has no power to fuel pump

try to locate the fuel pump relay. the pump should be turned on by the relay controlled by the computer. If you can't find the relay, to your local parts store, sometimes they have a component locator and can tell you exactly where it is.

SOURCE: 2005 kia spectra over heating

Did you install a new thermostat and make sure to bleed all the air out of the system when you replaced the radiator? If you didn't, or installed a Stant thermostat, replace it with a FACTORY OEM thermostat. Make sure the cooling system is bled by opening your radiator cap (WHILE THE CAR IS OFF AND COLD), starting the car and running the heater. Add coolant to the radiator as the engine heats up, until is at normal operating temperature AND starts spitting coolant back out.

Hope this helps,
matt

I have a 2005 Kia Spectra 5 and It's been losing power going uphills o freeway like to 40 miles an hour. And now it won't turn over. I think it might be fuel filter any suggestions?

When you say "won't turn over" do you mean that it will not crank or not start? If it does not crank then it is an electrical problem. Check the battery and connections to be sure they are clean and tight. If it cranks but will not start, then it could be a fuel problem. Hook up a fuel gauge to see how much pressure you have. Could be a filter or a fuel pump going out.

2007 kia spectra takes several tries to start

If at all possible you need to check fuel pressure, fuel pressure should be at 49~50.5psi and should hold there. If pressure is low could be fuel filter or fuel pump or if pressuer does not hold then fuel is draining back into the tank causing an extended crank and is most likely the fuel pump assembly, it has a check valve that is suppose to hold the fuel pressure after shut off so the next time you start the engine the pressure will be there and engine will start right away. And keep in mind that I reccomend going this route ONLY because there are no warning lights, if you get a Check Engine Light (CEL) or a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) then you may have another problem and it needs to be checked with a computer. Good luck, hope this helps.

Headlight replacement for 2005 Kia Spectra....what are steps? Thanks! I have bought a 2 pack of bulbs, figuring the other light is not far behind (going bad). So, I am rreplacing both bulbs.

  1. Remove the cover by unscrewing it counter clockwise
  2. Holding the bulb in, try to pull on the connection cable from the bulb
  3. Undo the pressure wire from the bulb frame
  4. carefully remove the bulb, in the left (battery) side can be tricky if you got BIG hands, but you DO NOT have to remove the battery
  5. Repeat the steps backwards for installation of the new ones
  6. Remember to connect the cable AFTER you have install the bulb and reattached the pressure wire

Is your check engine lite on.. The problem is still there at high speeds but if one cylinder is missing the piston is moving thru the problem area so fast that its not noticeable. Sounds like a vacuum leak, injecter or a bad wire or plug..*****
