Autozone sells the Haynes manual .it should have a diagram in it. Or you can find it online by doing a search for it.

SOURCE: brake fluid leaking from the

master cylinder maybe or the brake lines going to the back of the truck, but most likely the master cylinder, check to see if you see any brake fluid on the front of the brake booster or any paint peeling off the brake booster

You can get any wiring diagram for any vehicle. It will cost about $12 and it's well worth it. It will give you the complete diagram bumper to bumper.

Have a 1991 dodge dakota, have replaced everything , still cant get brakes to work.

How about the rubber flex hoses restricted

In the rear you have an abs hcu you can throw way
& bypass, then unplug the controller up under the dash
on the passenger side

Also the rear brake cables won't work for rust, they have to go also

I had a 1992 Dakota for 18 years

Leave the wire off the proportioning valve as the vehicle is wired wrong & if your bleeding it ,it will melt down the wires in the ignition switch (been there) Vehicle is not the same as the factory wiring diagrams

How do I tell if the rear brakes on my 1997 dodge stratus are anti-lock brakes?

If you have anti-lock brakes you should have extra brake lines and a pump in front of the master cylinder.

Rear wheels lock up on my dodge dakota

What year Dakota? Drum Brakes?

Lock up when?

If you use the parking brake, then the cables
have to be replaced because of rust.

With proper brake maintenance once a year, there is no
reason to say they lock up while driving

How much is a rear brake line for 97 dodge dakota 4x4 318

Your question has many answers. Do you have anti-lock brakes? Even if you do , do you need the line to the junction block, from the front of the vehicle, to the rear axle? Or the one going to the left wheel or the right? Or the rubber one that goes from the frame to the axle? You can get most from the dealer that are pre-formed if it is the metal ones. The rubber one can be aquired a most part stores. Metal lines can be purchased there too but will be varied leangths and you have to bend them yourself. You can expect to pay up to $100+, including brake fluid to bleed the system, for everything from front to rear. Plus a friend to help you bleed it if you don't have access to a machine that will do it with one person. Hope this help you.

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota that will not lock up the brakes. Everything has been replaced and it coasts to a stop. The pedel goes to the floor at full stop . Master cyl, prop valve, new lines, and...

Master cylinter is shot is my first thought. if it has been replaced with a referb.. replace it again. make sure you bench bleed the master cylinder before putting it on.. if it's new, you have a ton of air in the lines.. bleed the pass rear first/ drivers rear/ pass front/ pass rear.. FYI your brakes/ tires should never lock up, you have ABS.

Anti lock brake light won't go off

Check all the wiring to each wheel for a sensor is attached to the back side of each one. Road debries can shear a wire in two and cause the ABS light to stay on and have good brakes at the same time
