SOURCE: leaking rear main seal.
Replacement is pretty difficult, but if you go to advance auto parts, (cheap trick) you can buy "rear main seal repair" it works. I used it on my dodge dakota, and the leak only persisted for about a week, and was fine after that. Worth a shot, a new seal is very hard to install. You have to basically pull the entire motor up and out to reach it for one, then, setting the seal is just a pain.

I had the same problem, i removed drum and found a piece of brake shoe broke off and was causing brake to lock.

yes you will find these parts fit a lot of other cars some with oil seals some without an oil seal fits 50%in a grove and 50% out so if you seen no oil seal when replacing then dont worry about it.adrian,,,,,,

pull the transmission, and change the seal. Either that or you can change the PCV valve, and stop the crankcase from building up the pressure that is pushing the oil out of the rear seal.
Chnging the seal is a $1200 job, and changing the PCV costs about $15.. Take your pick. If you opt for the rear seal, and don't do the PCV.. Don't come crying to me when it is still leaking.

Easier to do on a hoist but if you do it on the ground make sure truck is safely on stands and take out Transmission and flex plate.
