Maybe you have a bearing going out on one of the pully's. Have you cleaned up the surface real good before butting the new belt on. Use alot of brake clean and wipe all the pully's and idlers real good. Be sure the replacement belts arnt longer than the original one. They sometimes get it wrong at the parts house. If your car has a tensioner it may be getting weak

First off, how many miles do you have on this engine?Since you changed the belt and still have the noise, you have one of your pulleys making this noise.Usually it's the ideler tensioner pully.Take the belts off.Turn the pulleys by hand including the alternator pulley.if you hear the slightest faint noise there's your problem.repalce the part or the pulley. A lot of times the alternator pulley does this, the front bearing or the rear bearing as well will make these nasty squeals.Find an auto electric shop that rebuilds alternators and have them replace the bearing for you, while your at it service your unit,it will save you in the long run.

My car stopped a dead stop

If you were driving and your Kia Optima just turned off. Your timimg belt broke and you will also need a crank shaft sensor too. There is a total of two belts inside the motor area (timing belt and balance belt) I would change out the ac and power steering belt as well so their is a total of four belts on the KIA 2004 OPTIMA.

Squeaking from the drive belts

You can get belt dressing from auto zone which you spray on the belt as it is running and it will lube the belt and stop squeaking.

Hope this helps,

My car wont start, battery is good.

If the car was sqeaking it could have been your alternator belt, The sqeaking sound is the belt slipping, it is loose because there is not enough belt tension on the pulley. If it was slipping your alternator was not charging properly that's why your battery is low or dead.

Have the belt tightened or replaced (depending on condition) and drive your car around for about a half hour at normal speeds to recharge the battery.

Good Luck!

When car is running there is a very loud squealing sound that seems to be caused by the belts but they have been checked. Any suggestions would be great. It is a 2003 Kia Optima. And I can not find a...

check belts and pulleys, for wear, a shiny pulley is a sign of wear... see how the belt rides in the pulley it should not be low in the groove on a V belt... if it rides low in a pulley then only the very top sides of the belt are shouldering the load making it easy for slippage...

2003 Volkswagen Jetta squeaking noise!

As you probably know squeaking could be alot of things, but the most common noise, that would not effect performance, would be serpentine belts. You can buy a can of belt dressing at Autozone, that you spray on the inside, the contact side, of the belt. If it is the belt, this should help. If it's been a long time since replaced you may want to replace belt. Alot of those belts will break after being worn out, but the better quality belts may not break, but they will make a horrendous squealing noise. If it's not the belt, you'd have to have someone look at it to troubleshoot. Good luck.

I hear a sound like the fan belt sqeaking, I know there is only one belt and that belt is still on . first it made a sound like a tire was leaking air then i heard the sqeaking under the hood

belts can still sqeak even though they are still on, check the condition of the belt, is it craked?, glazed? spray some silicon spray on it while its running and see if it goes away. the belt driven accesories can also make noise, alternator, steering pump, water pump, idler, tensioner, a/c compressor. use a long screwdriver like a stethescope and see if one belt driven acessory makes more noise than the others, just be careful of moving parts.
