I have a 98 kia sportage. The airbag light is flashing on the dash but not codes come up on the scanner. Ideas?

We unhooked the battery and left it unhooked all night. This morning when he reconnected it and started it, it started right up and the hold light and our check engine light went off. We did press the hold button and it came on and went back off when we hit it again.

replace vacuum hoses they are located just out side shock towers front end

check both of your fuse panels for a blown fuse. there's 4-5 that control the fuel pump, engine sensors, fuel injectors and such. one of those may be blown and not letting the rest of the system function. one panel is located under hood, and one is under the dash on drivers side. when you take the covers off they have the fuses numbered and tell what they control.

Under driver and passenger seats are wires that go to seat belt anchors.These are tensioner wires.Unplug the wires from the plug under the seat.clean and replace.Doing this while the ignition is turned off.Then turn ignition back on.In 90% of the time this is your problem.Constant movement of seat causes this or rear passengers kicking plugs off.Good luck phil.

are u sure the button isn't pushed on the side of shifter...If its flashing i am not sure. when i go out 4x4ing mine flashes then a few days later it goes out....
