DTC C0550 00: EEPROM Checksum Mismatch . Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.
Circuit/System Description
When the ignition is turned ON, the microprocessor runs a diagnostic program to detect an internal fault when power up is commanded. If an internal malfunction is detected, the control module will store a DTC C0550 in its memory.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
If equipped, the following module specific actions may occur:
• The antilock brake system (ABS) indicator turns ON.
• The BRAKE warning indicator turns ON.
• The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the ABS/dynamic rear proportion (DRP)/traction control system (TCS).
• The driver information center (DIC) displays the power steering warning message No Steering Assist.
• The TCS indicator turns ON.

need to hook up a scanner that reads the obdII error codes, get one that reads abs and airbag, find out what the error is by hooking up the scanner, then proceed as indicated, was this vehicle recently purchased or have u had it awhile?
ECS is electronic controlled stability. It works with traction control when it is slippery and it does cause what you describe. It reduces the power to the engine and drive train. IT could be from ice build up on wheel sensors.
P2187-Fuel Trim System Lean at Idle-- If you have a cold air intake on your 2009 HHR turbo, it been know to happen. Your HHR is still under warranty so take it to the dealer, the code indicates that the engine is running lean when at idle but is running fine what engine is under load. It could be a simple update to the soft wear to the ECM to the HHR or a faulty MAF, regardless use the warranty you have and have them get your HHR running 100% again. Thank you for using Fixya.
