SOURCE: brakes not working
sounds like you still have air in the brake lines i would try to bleed them again hope this helps regards Jim
SOURCE: Brakes are gone
check ur brake lines for posible leaks. also make sure to bleed your brakes after you put fluid into it or else the air won't come out of the brake lines causing ur pedal to still go to the floor
SOURCE: front brakes stay locked up
You may want to replace your flexible feed lines to the calipers. Any little bit of **** in them will not let the brake fluid out of the caliper,

It's very possible to be the master cylinder, the o-rings on the piston could be worn, letting the fluid seep back through instead of getting full pressure through the lines. Could also be the brake booster.
Try changing the master cylinder first, which is cheaper and easier, and see if there is a difference, you'll need to bleed the brakes again.
To check the booster,
With the engine off, pump the brakes until the pedal is hard, then hold pressure on the brake pedal and listen for air escaping, or the pedal goes slowly to the floor, Do that after the master cylinder has been changed, at least that will be eliminated.
Testimonial: "Hadn't thought about the O-rings on the rod thanks for the idea. Great Idea Thanks!"

Most likely the combination/multifunction switch (turn signal lever). It can be changed without taking the steering wheel off, but not a job I would recommend if you have minimal experience. Since one of the (pair) wires go across the top of the column and connect to the shift safety switch on the right side of the column. The rest of the wires go to the main plug lower left of the column. The knee bolster is usually removed (plastic piece of dash by driver's knees). Shouldn't take a mechanic over an hour/ hour and a half.
The reason it stops when you depress the brake pedal is because your brake lights, and flashers use the same bulb.
Hope that helped, thanks for using FixYa.
