SOURCE: replacing fuel pump on 1995 oldsmobile aurora

The GM 1995 Aurora repair manual, says to use the access hole under the carpet in the back right corner of the trunk. You are best to buy a new fuel sender locking nut or ring at the dealer for about $8.

Forgot to add this - to relieve the fuel pressure, just use the press the center of valve on the fuel rail (for pressure testing) and a rag to catch the dribble. Really no big deal.

Make sure disconnect the battery cables too

SOURCE: How do you change the brakelight on a 2001

pop the trunk and you should see two screws along the rear taillight assembly. remove the screws and the taillight assembly should pop out. you can then twist the bulb and pop it out along with the harness, put the new bulb in and reverse.

If it's your 3rd brake light, the bolts holding it in against the rear window will be found inside your trunk along the top side of your trunk (get in and look up)

SOURCE: 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora Rear Rattle

If it's making a clunk noise when hitting bumps, check the mounting plates and bushings that hold the rear end to the frame. GM made these plates out of aluminum and the bolts that go through the plate and the bushings rot out and the rear end slams against the frame.

2001 old aurora replace radiator

With a 4.0-remove the air filter housing and unbolt the ECM (located under the air housing). I did not unbolt the harness connector to the ECM, I just moved to out of the way, but if you do decide to remove it, disconnect the battery first. Remove the rubber cover above the radiator, and unbolt the brackets above the radiator. Remove the headlights (both sides) to gain access to the bolts that hold the AC condenser to the radiator, then remove the lower air dam. Drain the radiator (drain plug is on the lower corner, driver side), it is somewhat easier if you remove the air intake grill on that side which is held in place by two screws. Unbolt the bolts that hold the radiator in place to the radiator frame, then unhook the top and bottom radiator hoses at the clamps. Unhook the harnesses from the fan radiators, and lift out the assemblies as a unit, it is a tight fit. From another user on Fixya.

Down below the AC compressor, just behind the radiator on the passenger side of the car.

How to remove and replace radiator on 2001 oldsmobile aurora

I would take out the cross member to make more room. You will have to remove the fans and at least loosen the condenser as well. Should be able to get it out through the top then.

How to replace water pump on 2001 olds aurora V-8

remove the surge tank, the serpentine belt, and unbolt the water pump (drain the radiator before you do this)-there are a lot of bolts and they are different lengths, so keep track of them so they go back in the same places.

Check the radiator coolant for exhaust oder or crankcase oil. Also make sure there is not old gasoline in the tank in the event the vehicle has been stored for a length of time.

I cannot remove the alternator from a 2001 olds aurora

Is this a 4.0 or a 3.5?
I did a 3.5 recently and you need to remove the support over the radiator and then remove the radiator fans. You are supposed to move the AC compressor, however I was able to get the alternator our without doing that.

2001 aurora engine heats up when not moving down

Likely the fan(s) not turning on when engine gets hot. Is the check engine light on? Read the code(s) and repair as needed. Check (when cold) the fan(s) for free turning--if seem bound or hard to turn, replace the ailing fan. Check the radiator and reservoir fluid level. Watch the fans as the engine heats up. Feel the radiator area where the upper engine hose connects. It will suddenly turn hot when the thermostat opens. The fan assembly should activate somewhat after. Hopefully, the engine code recognized a defective temp sensor and was replaced.
