Maybe a relay has stuck contacts . Do you know about relays ?

  • Jeff Armer Apr 04, 2017

The engine cooling fan system consists of 1 cooling fan and 1 relay. The relay is powered by the battery positive voltage circuit and controlled by a switched ground from the powertrain control module (PCM).Cooling fan relay located in the under hood fuse box . Try different relay .

I have a 98 sunfire. should the cooling fan on the radiator come on from the initial start up?

The engine cooling fan is designed to come on when the engine reaches 225-235 degrees Fahrenheit. That is the only time it runs. Do you get a check engine light?

I have 2005 Sunfire and my horn recently will start going on it's own. I'll hear a little clicking and then the horn starts randomly going off I had to remove the fuze for it to stop, how can I fix this?...

I would change the horn relay it is most likely the cuplrit, I will look into the CEL and get back to you, the light icon is telling you that you are running on driving lights. which is normal.

Cooling fan

Yes, it's probably the PCM. I had the same problem, and upon replacing the PCM it started working again. If your cooling sending unit is new, and so many parts of your fan assembly are new, it's probably not receiving the signal from the sending unit. Hope this helps.

2003 Sundifre won't STAY running

The gauge problem sounds like the common issue on the 03-05 Sunfire instrument clusters where the stepper motors on the cluster's circuit board fail over time. It can be fixed, check out this page for more on how to get it repaired - Sunfire instrument cluster fix

Trouble with my speedometer starting off at 60 or 100

Pretty common on the 03-05 Sunfire instrument clusters. It's caused by the stepper motors on the cluster circuit board going bad but it can be fixed. Check out this page for more about how to get it fixed - Sunfire speedometer fix
