There should be a relay under the hood or in the fuse box for day time running lights. Most of them are labeled.

SOURCE: 2002grand am daytime running lights

99 - 04 grand am.

I had the "service vehicle soon" light come twice with in 1 year. First the heald light bulbs were gone. Replaced the head light bulbs and after 2 starts the "service vehicle soon" light was gone.

The second time the DRL - #194 amber bulbs were gone. Replaced these and the "service vehicle soon" light was gone after 2 starts. The DRLs are housed in the headlamp housing, the tiny bulbs beside the head light.

perhaps i missed something here... lowbeams and daytime lights are about the same.... be that as it may... the merely obvious thing is that the low beams are burnt out.... next thing would be that the relay for the day time lights could be defective... it's often mounted on the firewall.

SOURCE: i have a 2003 chevy cavalier. headlight issue

The blinking light is telling you that you have a headlight out, if you look the service light should be coming on when the light stops blinking.
Replace the head light and all should be fine.

SOURCE: Can't shift out of park, no brake lights/turn signals

Had same problem. Our trailer electric wiring harness had a bare wire that shorted when it touched the meatl trailer hitch. This blew a fuse. The fuse that it blew also control the transmission lock out thus not allowing you to shift out of park. I believe it is a 15 amp fuse. Of all the spare fuses in the van there is no 15 amp available. I took the fuse for the heated mirrors and swapped it with the blown fuse. Problem fixed but no heat for the mirrors. Better that than no tranny.

How do I fix the tail lights and headlights on my 2000 Chevrolet CavalierI have brake lights and turn signals

Did you check the fuses RT HDLP 15amp. LTHDLP 15amp in the instrument panel fuse block ? These are for the headlamps ! Also check EXTLAMP fuse 20amp in same fuse block. If those are good your going to need a Headlamp switch . I could tell you to check for battery + voltage at connector 1 pin D an F at the headlamp switch with park lamps on ! this is to see if voltage is going through the switch . You could do the same for the headlamps , Connector 2 pin C is low beams an pin B is high beams ! Connector 2 pins A an E are grounds , need to check those as well . But first you'll need to take plastic cover from around the upper steering column to get at the switch ! piece of cake ! good luck ....

Car: 2000 Chev Cavalier 4dr 2.2L? 4 cylinder car? My problem is this my low dim lights are very low, my high beams works only when I hold the lever arm ? (Not sure how to explain this?) any ideas what...

First, be sure that the headlights are actually coming on. These cars have daytime running lights that use the headlight bulbs at a lower voltage. If the car is only using the daytime running lights, the tail lights will not be on with the headlights. The multifunction lever always turns on the high beams when you pull on it (it's called 'flash to pass'). Make sure the headlight switch is working, and also check the headlight circuit breaker.

Headlights work, but not Instrument panel, daytime RL....

If the parking lights do not come on, they do have their own fuse, and it could be bad. This is separate from the brake lights.

But if the fuses are all good, then it could be the headlight switch. Remember the switch does the parking lights separate from the main headlights, so that you can just turn on the parking lights if you want, (Paris style). It is a feature left over from WWII, when Europeans were not allowed to run with full headlights at night, in the cities.

Brake lights dont work, Turn Signals all goofy

First thing i would do is chg. the break light switch, and make sure to chk. all grounds around tailights, sometimes if there is a ground problem it will travel back thru the hot wire to get a ground, witch in turn makes everything go wackey.

2002 Saturn SL headlights stay on

On a 2002 saturn, the headlights are not automatic, you have to turn the knob on the end of the signal light lever to turn them off.
Also, some models are equipped with "Daytime running lights"; a safety feature. these daytime running lights are just the amber colored front signal lights, which turn on automatically when the parking brake is released to make your car more visible during daylight hours. Furthermore, if any headlight refuses to shut off, there is an electrical problem, most likely a failed relay, which are located in the underhood fuse panel and can be checked quite easily with a multimeter, relay failures are veryrare, but not unheard of, especially in vehicles equipped with aftermarket fog lights. Thankfully they are cheap and readily available and are as easy to change as a fuse.
