Unplug the fuel pump's electrical connection and disconnect the fuel send and return hose. Remove the retaining cap for the fuel pump with tool MB991480 and remove the fuel pump.
Install the packing material on the fuel tank. Replace it if the packing material is damaged or deformed. Install the new fuel pump and align the marks on the floor pan and fuel pump.
Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure.

I have a similar problem...when at a stop it jerks in hesitation sometime feeling as if it wants to stall. It also does this when accelerating from stop...it has completely stalled out once when accelerating after switching from reverse to drive, but started right away.

You should have your TPS and EGR looked at as those cause rough idles...Other causes are bad idle air control valve, bad plugs, bad distributor
cap & rotor, a bad wire, bad O2 sensor, etc...
