2002 Chevy Astro Van 6 cyl. Was getting progressively harder to start. then would not start at all. Did tune up did not help. Cranks over and runs for 2 secs. then dies.

Skmet, Have you had a full tune up lately, including an injector cleaning. Problem could be a misfire, have a good Tech scan for codes, diagnose and estimate repair. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

what kind of codes you have?.try to reset,how many came back.

loosen fuel lines at throttle body when turning key to on possion , careful not to spill gas all over engine, do you hear fuel pump running and try to put at least 4-5 gallions of fuel, you could try a (LITTLE ) shot of starting fluid ?good luck hope this helps.

If nobody here provides it for you (I don't have your van's manual), then visit the chevy dealership and ask a not-too-busy shop foreman or a parts dept. person for a little assistance. A quick look in a repair manual for your van may also have it. It must have got scraped off or disappeared from under your hood, on a little sticker?

Answer to firing order

Firing order for 1992 chevy astro 4.3L, From front of engine driver's (left) side No.1, to right front, No.2. left side middle cyl. No.3. Right side mid. cyl. No.4. Rear cyl. left side, No.5. Rear rihgt No.6. On the Distributer cap from No.1 (should be marked) plug tower order is 1,6,5,4,3,2.

think this is the immobilisor ,try the spare key .also make sure that the key is kept well away from the TV and mobile phone

crank shaft sen. is easy enough to change.its mounted near timing chain cover,cam sen.is somewhat harder,its in the distributor,id doubt that both are defect
