SOURCE: massive tune up for a 2000 crown victory

Plugs, Direct ignition modules should be checked for conductivity and resistance, oil, oil filter, 14 quarts of tranny fluid, tranny filter, oil, oil filter, serpentine belt, tensioner pulley setup ( cops beat on these motors) fuel filter, flush the coolant system ( a new radiator is great for these cars), timing belt, purple oil for the rear end, Id either ad Lucas (my first chioce) or marvel mystery oil for the motor, tranny, and rear end, as long as there isnt any serious trouble mechanicaly this will condtion the moving parts and reduce breakdown of those partts. Other than that i think you'd be wasting money, i work at a dealer that specializes in goverment cars, ive seen theese steps bring a car that wont move and barely run, to a dependable daily driver. good luck

Where where do i find the fuse for the speedometer on a 2001 Crown Vic

There are three fuse's for the instrument cluster , all located in the central junction box (fuse panel ) inside the vehicle ,under the dash !
Fuse # 14 a 10 amp , fuse # 23 15amp. and #6 15amp . Look behind right and left kick panel . But i don't think this is a fuse problem , gauge itself could be bad .

How do i remove a rev limiter from a crown victory

That function is usually handled by a program in the ecm. Unless you get a chip burned to change the properties of the ECM, there is nothing you can do.

Loud tiking sound after recent cylinder head replacement

IF you did not keep that rocker gear and rockers together as units then the noise may be from the wear on the ends of the rockers not matching the wear for the valve ends. If you fitted 1 new valve and did not grind the rocker arm wear out that may be the ticking noise

What can i do to quiet a valve tap in 2001 ford crown victoria

easy way: oil additives found at auto stores will have something to reduce/stop valve tapping. change your oil and add the additive before filling the engine back up. that will fix it for a few thousand miles till you have to do it the hard way. the hard way: remove the rocker cover, use a feeler gauge and a ford service manual to get each cylinder to where it needs to be adjusted and feel the rocker gap and adjust to suit.

2001 grand cherokee 4.0l valve rocker torque specs

5 million made.
it's in the fsm book
posted here over 300 times.
are you asking , how to set rockers ?

chapter 9 page 27
------------------text fsm---------------------
INSPECTION
Inspect the pivot surface area of each rocker arm.
Replace any that are scuffed, pitted, cracked or
excessively worn.
Inspect the valve stem tip contact surface of each
rocker arm and replace any rocker arm that is deeply
pitted.
Inspect each push rod end for excessive wear and
replace as required. If any push rod is excessively
worn because of lack of oil, replace it and inspect the
corresponding hydraulic tappet for excessive wear.
Inspect the push rods for straightness by rolling
them on a flat surface or by shining a light between
the push rod and the flat surface.
A wear pattern along the length of the push rod is
not normal. Inspect the engine cylinder head for
obstruction if this condition exists.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: This procedure can be done with the engine
in or out of the vehicle.
(1) Lubricate the ball ends of the push rods with
Mopart Engine Oil Supplement, or equivalent and
install push rods in their original locations. Ensure
that the bottom end of each push rod is centered in
the tappet plunger cap seat.
(2) Using Mopart Engine Oil Supplement, or
equivalent, lubricate the area of the rocker arm that
the pivot contacts. Install rocker arms, pivots and
bridge above each cylinder in their originally position
(Fig. 23).
(3) Loosely install the capscrews through each
bridge.
(4) At each bridge, tighten the capscrews alternately,
one turn at a time, to avoid damaging the
bridge. Tighten the capscrews to 28 N·m (21 ft. lbs.)
torque.
(5) Install the engine cylinder head cover (Refer to
9 - ENGINE/CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER HEAD
COVER(S) - INSTALLATION).

Can you ajust valves in 3.9 2001

Non-adjustable,Hydraulic lifters. You can pull covers and inspect rocker arms for excessive wear for one thing. Not knowing mileage, and service history makes it hard, but that's a place to start. Locate the noisy ones and concentrate on them for excessive wear. I'm assuming you've got good oil pressure, as well as proper grade of oil in it.
