Check your timing belt by carefully removing the timing belt pulley cover to the left of the valve cover. The valve cover houses the spark plugs. You should be able to flash a flashlight down and see your timing belt. Most likely, you have a timing belt going, or a shaving stuck in your VCT solenoid. I'm guessing the belt is worn and has slipped a tooth or two. I would take caution driving it as it's been disputed that it could be an interference engine, and you could do serious damage to your vehicle.

Ok, the title didn't show all the question; and you ask if you can change the oxygen sensor yourself.
The answer is yes, and it is very simple.
There are actually 2 oxygen sensors on your vehicle, both are located on the catalytic converter. The first is located at the top of the exhaust coming out of the cylinder head, and the other is located on the underside of the vehicle on the same pipe coming off the engine. They look identical, except the underside has a much longer wire clip coming from it. Here is a picture of it.

Have you changed your oil? Rotella 15W-40. These engines really don't like old oil. It becomes too thick for the injection pump to work correctly. Another possibility is a bad cam sensor on the front of the motor. Most engines call this the crank sensor but on this engine you have to look it up as a cam sensor.

The o2 sensor is ehat triggers the light. Usually the one downstream from the converter.
