My 30 amp fuel fuse keeps blowing

You may have a short in wiring to fuel pump. Try this! remove the wires from fuel pump, then turn key to start the car briefly. If the fuse does not blow, its likely the fuel pump is drawing to much current and blowing the fuse. God-Bless!

the load is SHORTEd, the fuse saved the fire.

but keep in mind some fuses run more that one thing, ill check.

20amp fuse (no label) no engine option stated, must be the 6ve1, v6 twin cam.
fuel systems vary by (engine type)
not the 3.5L vin Y engines. 2.2 or 3.2L>?
fuse EB12, Engine bay fuse blows, 20a, fuel pump.

so pull these conn.
H-15 first
then if ok, (no blow)
H-25: if not blow now the pump is shorted
or the wire from H25 to F1 is ground to the frame.
wire inspections are first. on that path.
i use a EB12 , circuit breaker and mag ammeter to find this fast.

Sorry to say it could also be a faulty ECM. The ecm uses circuit boards to provide grounds to a bunch of components and can short out internally.
Most of those components can fail and cause the same problem by causing a short "thru" the ECM. Things like injectors, O2 sensors, and so on.
I doubt you will find the problem without a book and some test equipment.

I would disconnect the fuel pump harness at the pump and turn the key on. If the fuse blows, look for damage to the wiring harness and under the hood for any signs of heat to the power distribution box at the fuel pump fuse. Let me know what you find.

You could have a short in the wire harness to the fuel pump or the fuel pump it self is bad or the relay has gone bad also. Start with the replacement of the fuel pump relay and also find the wire harness to the fuel pump sending unit from the frame to the gas tank and disconnect the connections. If the fuse does not blow when the connection to the fuel pump is disconnected, then it's a go chance that it's the fuel pump. If the fuse blows and the wire harness is disconnected, then the problem is towards the fuel pump relay and fuse block. Check the fuel pump relay, i am not sure but i think there are two of them. Check the wire harness too, mice may have chewed in to the wires causing a shot in the system.

The power wire to your fuel pump must be shorting out somewhere. Disconnect it and see if your fuse still blows. If not, then follow the wire all the way back to the fuel pump, and look for a bare spot. Good luck!

It appears that it is part of the fuel pump circuit, so I would concentrate on wiring harness & connector at fuel pump, clean it real good, and apply dielectric grease to the connection, as well as the fuel pump relay, connector & harness.

The ECM-B fuse is a 20 amp fuse, and you should NEVER put a larger fuse in to try to overcome any problem. The oil pressure switch is a secondary concern; there is an idiot light or oil pressure guage in the dash to alert you to oil pressure problems. Under heavy load, such as towing, your engine requires more fuel, and if your fuel pump is going/has gone bad, it cannot supply the demand.
The problem is almost certainly a fuel pump wire harness short, caused by a dying fuel pump. I have both had this problem myself, and repaired it on three other vehicles. On my vehicle, the wire harness had welded itself together when the fuel pump locked up, and the wire harness caught on fire.
The fuel pump is in the gas tank (of course my tank was full), and the tank has to be dropped to access it. The wire harness is modular, with plugs at both ends, and can be bought from the Chevrolet or GMC dealer.
If you put an incorrectly-rated fuse anywhere in your vehicle's electrical system, the WORST place to do it is where you have--the fuel pump circuit. Fuses blow for a reason, and the manufacturer's engineers properly size the fuses for the application at hand. Please don't do that again.
This can be a very dangerous problem and repair, and no, it is not cheap.
Do not attempt to operate this vehicle until you have had the problem properly corrected. Good luck.

Check the wiring harness for a live>ground fault
maybe the live to the pump(s) rubbed hard against the chassis somewhere.disconnect the harness from the pumps along the chassis rail somewhere and put a fuse in again. keep following the harness back and disconnecting til the fuse sts good. U may need 3-4 fuses. at some point you sould locate the section where the live is grounding. be patient it may take a while to locate. be optimistic - it may only take a minute!
