I filled up the gas tank on my 2005 mitsubishi outlander. It cost $22.00. When I pulled out out and into traffic, the meter did not move. I have driven it 10 more miles and it still has not moved.

Hi I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander It starts to leak gas when it hits about 3/4 full could it be tank or filler neck and how can I see the problem

I would say tank. If the filler neck was leaking, it would be doing it the entire time you fill up. Get it fixed ASAP- that can be a serious fire hazard.

2007 Mitsubishi, Outlander XLS....when I start in the morning in cold weather, I am not getting hot air during standby and when I start moving, I am getting hot air after few minutes drive. Then when I...

Check your coolant level when engine cold, low level coolant does not circulate very well at idle and will cause poor heating,at higher RPM water pump turns faster to help circulate.

When refueling my 2005 outlander east extremely difficult to start. If i go out right now and remove the gas cap there is no problem, only when i get fuel.

You may have some water in the tank. Normally it is below the pickup, but fueling stirs it up. Have a mechanic loosen the fuel line at the motor, shake the car, and then pump some fuel to test for water.

I drive a Mits Outlander 2005 4WD Auto-transmission (see image).
This morning, I put it in D-Drive but it didnt move.
R-Reverse moves but after a chug sound.

Called a mech over the phone, he says something about a "fibre" in the tranny that need to be replaced.

Thinking back, I changed the timing-belt when it snapped last Wednesday.

Then last Saturday, while filling the AC gas, another mech checked and noticed that the front shafts had damaged plastic covers that were replaced. But ATF fluid dripped from the tranny thru the removed shafts.

While topping the ATF, this fluid spilled on some wire harness and wire-sockets on the tranny next to the dip-stick opening.

This morning, when the D-Drive failed to move the car, I noticed an extra dull glow of the green light on N-Neutral on the dash-board indicator when the stick is in the D-Drive position.
No Check-Engine light came up.

Can this spilled ATF on these cable cause the tranny to fail like this?

What can I do to correct it?

Many thanks.

Tony.

Would high octanage as 91 damage my 2005 outlander?

The only way improper octane rated gas can damage your vehicle is if you use an octane rating that is too low. Using gas with a higher rating than your vehicle calls for will not damage the vehicle.

Gas light stays on even when tank is full

the float sensor attahced to your fuel pump sounds as though it is not working properly. Usually this occurs when the car rides on E many times and becomes damaged. depending on the model it may be necessary to replaced the sensor assembly or if it is the complete unit the whole fuel pump.

Also, depending on your driving habits your car can use more gas if your are driving in traffic (stop and go). Average out your fuel mileage by filling up a few times and keeping a log of the gas consumed. Do this by reseting the trip meter when you fill up and when you fill up again divide the total mileage on your trip meter by the amount of gas you used by getting the amount of gallons it took to fill up again. ex. 360miles divided by 10gals = 36 miles per gallon.

note. make sure you check your air filter (is it clean?) and tire pressure (32psi) these can be contributing factors to poor gas mileage

Gas lid will not release 2005 outlander

There is a small spring clip that snaps onto the inside of the door that has broken and/or fallen off.

The new clip is part number MU481269 and costs about $3 from your dealer.

To get the door open to replace it, have someone push on the forward edge of the door while you pull the release lever.
