SOURCE: no brake/hazard lights,have running/turn signal lights

Suggest you change hazard flasher 'can' first, then go to the hazard switch. I'm betting it's the flasher can.

How do you locate and test flasher relay on a 2006 Chevy Equinox? Turn signals and hazards stopped working after changing audio system. Fuses test good. Thank you, Mike

Did you change any wiring , tap into any wiring ? There is no flasher relay on your vehicle . It controlled by the BCM !
Turn Signal/Hazard Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the turn signals and hazard lamps. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left turn or right turn position, the BCM receives a signal from the turn signal switch. The BCM then sends an on-off voltage signal to either the left or right turn signals and their instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicator. When the hazard switch is pressed, the BCM receives a signal from the hazard switch. The BCM then will send an on-off voltage signal to all the turn signal lamps. All the turn signal lamps will flash including both IPC turn signal indicators.
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair ! We on here have no clue what you did . On this newer vehicles ,if you know nothing about automotive electronics you really should take to a professional

My hazard lights on my 2000 volvo s40 won't turn off please help pressed switch couple of times only turns off while you hold the button in

Sounds like a sticky/bad switch. You can try rapidly pressing the hazard button numerous times to see if switch will release. Usually it will. If not, you can pull the fuse for the hazards (location and identification in owners manual)

How to replace a 2002 Volvo S40 turn signal switch?

Purchase a Haynes manual for your model car (they are cheap) which will clearly give you a step by step procedure in replacing your turn signal switch and more importantly, will highlight the possible hazards and precautions necessary to do the job safely.

After using turn signal you can still hear clinking, is hazard relay part of turn signal

The hazard switch is also the device that supplies the turn signal "flash". If you continue to hear the noise of the turn signal flashing when the turn signals off than the problem is the turn signal switch. It is grounding The purple wire from the hazard switch which makes the hazard switch think the turn signal is on. The fix for this is to relace the turn signal/multi-function switch. Typically they will start to go bad in stages. Your symptom is the first stage. Eventually either the turn signals or the brake lights will also sto working. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

We have an S40 2000, 1.6 gasoline. Have a problem with turning lights. No one of them are working, in fact, the hazard lights are ok! Please help!

This is an EASY EASY FIX....... But you are not going to believe me but when you do what I say, you will find it will fix it......

Replace the working (DEFECTIVE) Hazard switch. and here is the reason why....

The Turn signals work through the Hazard switch, the switch acts as a RELAY / OVER RIDE. The hazard works as an Override so if the Blinkers are operating correctly and then you activate the Hazards, the blinkers no longer work and the Hazards have a Higher Priority and they work. If the Turn Signal part of the Switch is not working, the hazards still can work.

How do I know this? Happened to my 2000 S40 also...

Enjoy and have a great day

sounds like a dirty switch, happens a lot in the UK as the switch is checked for the safety every year so the dirt in the switch causes open circuits, it is a complicated switch, it has many contacts that do different things when in and out, try a salvage yard

Turn signals

you may check to see if your hazard light switch is disconnected or loose; if the hazard switch is not plugged in, both your hazards and turn signals will not operate
