Engine light on

the check engine light is on because theres a problem,you would have to scan the computer and get the codes that are stored in memory, then these codes give an idea of the problem,it may be an oxygen sensor or a loose gas cap etc, the codes help alot,then after the problem is fixed, then use a scan tool to reset or go to an autozone parts store they will scan it for free or reset the light, the next option is if the problem is fixed then after a few days of driving,maybe 150 miles the computer retests everyting and if all is good the light will shut off, but if you do have the light shut off without repairing the light will just come back on, hope this helps, good luck.

you need a cat /cat convertor. it will be pretty expensive. the cat it self goes for around 500 big ones and than the labor to replace it.
