SOURCE: Drive shaft for 1988 Ford Ranger extended cab

I have a '88 Ranger XLT extra cab 4X4 w/auto tranny (2.9L V6) that had a 2-piece driveshaft on it. After adding a 4" suspension lift, there was a strong vibration whenever I took off from a dead stop. I replaced the drive shaft with a beefed up 1 piece custom built by a shop specializing in drive shafts. The truck no longer had any vibration, and it hooks up immediately on exceleration. I found the shop on Ebay advertising drive shafts. All I had to do was measure the length from the transfer case/Tranny to the rear differential. The length of the new drive shaft allowed me to adjust almost 3/4" so all I had to do was get it close. I also took close up pictures so the shop could match up the correct flange on both ends of the driveshaft. The last thing I had to do was flip the crossmember brace so it wouldn't interfere with the new drive shaft.

P0171------ system too lean bank#1
Po174------ system too lean bank#2
For these 2 codes, try cleaning the maf sensor (mass air flow), that is mounted in the big black hose that goes from the air filter housing to the throttle plate, if it is dirty, that will cause those 02 sensors to send a signal to the computor to lean the air fuel mixture. If cleaning it doesn't work, the sensors will probably need changing.
P0300---- Random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0316---- Cylinder misfire at start up---- first 100 revolutions.
On those 2 codes, you have to do some testing to find out why there is a misfire.
Possible causes:
dirty/malfunctioning injectors
weak coil pack
fowling spark plugs/wires
Low fuel pressure

Why does my oil gauge vibrate when at a stop after driving freeway speeds, 2002 ford Ranger?

Factory gauges (especially Fords) are not known for being terribly accurate or reliable. As long as the gauge is pointed in the "normal" range, I wouldn't be too concerned.
If you want to pursue it, remove the oil pressure sending unit and perform an oil pressure test with a mechanical gauge. If the mechanical gauge fluctuates the same way, suspect a worn or failing oil pump. If the gauge is stable, I would suspect a faulty oil pressure sending unit.
If the truck has high miles, consider moving up to higher viscosity oil or adding an oil stabilizer. If could just be that the oil is breaking down when it's hot and the engine can hold consistent pressure with the thinning oil.

1993 Ford Ranger extended cab pickup. Oil guage showed low oil pressure while on local sall road and then truck stopped running. No warning, sputtering, etc... Check Engine light can on at the same time....

this could be the distributor pole piece, you will probably have to have someone read the computer for ignition codes to solve it. if you are by an AAmco trans shop they will read the codes for free.

Ford ranger 2002 6 4.0 LTR truck over heating.

The water is from the thermostat housing, fairly common leak. The ticking maybe from the timing chain cassette. You may have already had the cam timing slip (the cam gears are not keyed, they are held in place by torque alone. The oil gauge sounds like an electrical problem (either sender or sender wiring).

Oil pressure slow to rise

you need to try a external gauge to check the pressure to see if your dash gauge is right

if the engine took 10 minutes to get oil pressure it would be dead by now i would replace the oil pressure sender unit first
