The color of the two wires shouls be either red with a blue stripe or blue with a red stripe.
SOURCE: where is the neutral safety switch on a 2003 ford
at top area of transmission where the shifter cable attaches to lever and shaft @ base of shaft is gear selector/nuetral safety switch remove nut on end of shaft and usually 3 - 8mm screws holding switch down ,unplug electrical connector, remove lever from shaft and raise switch up and out
SOURCE: what wires do I need
The wires on the Transmission Range Sensor that control the ability to crank the starter are the BLACK/GREEN wire at Pin 6 and the wire at Pin 10 which is either BLACK/GREEN or BLACK WHITE depending on your model. (build - date and transmission type)
With all that said, I think it only fair to warn you that bypassing these wires will set codes in your Engine Control Module. It is not going to like it if there is power at pin 10 with the transmission in reverse or any of the forward gears. This may also cause your transmission to not shift properly because the ECM will not know for sure what gear you are in.
Testimonial: "thanks so much for the information I will install a switch and only use it when needed and to ensure that this is my problem."
