1991 JEEPWRANGLER HEAT SWITCH WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE

Slide levers like that usually move a cable. When they will not stay in place it usually means whatever they move is binding up. I suspect your heater valve is binding.

2001 grand prix high beams won't stay on

Dimmer switch loose/out of adjustment. Lower steering column gently, find the dimmer actuated witha metal rod. hold the rod in place this is imperitive. Loosen up the switch and tap it up toward the steeringwheel 1/16th an inch at a time untill it works properly. May need to replace the switch, if so just make sure you hold the rod in place with tape or something, because if the rod falls down, you may have to remove the steering wheel to get it back in place.

I replaced my alternator and battery. Now the heat stays on all the time. I have read in other places that after replacing the alternator, other people havethe same problem with the heat staying on.

You mean the blower stays running with the key off? It must have auto temp control, and it sounds like the blower control module needs replaced.
