it sounds like the shift cable is binding or just plain loose.
check the cable for correct alignment in park first and try shifting it again

sounds like a worn selector in the gearbox. it could also be the main bearings on the crank allowing to much float on the crank.But it is most likely the gearbox.

ask a local mechanic to have a look for you ,not sure whats wrong from your description but i hope you had this car given to you for free ,with a manual gearbox i might be lucky to get 500 euros for a car this old maybe 700 who knows if the right person comes along ,in the Uk this vehicle is popular with the ethnic majority for taxing but again a manual ,auto this vehicle in the UK is worth a max of 200 uk pounds ,with a dodgy gearbox its scrap

That cylinder is known as the clutch slave cylinder. It should push against the clutch fork every time the clutch pedal is depressed to allow gear changes. If it doesn't, suspect a faulty slave cylinder, or clutch master cylinder.
