SOURCE: 2004 Lincoln Aviator Crack in Lift Gate

Take it to a Lincoln dealer. The Lincoln body has a longer warranty than most cars. Your liftgate may not be made of metal, but the through and through failure warranty from Rust could be questionable enough to cover it.

We had a new door and trunklid warranteed after 5 years on our Mark 7. Plus they painted the entire car.

My 2004 Aviator wont come out of park. I noticed that the gear shift is loose. You can lift it straight up. Is there a way to fix it without having to have it towed to the garage?

Check where the shift lever is attached to the transmission maybe it did come off and no longer controlling the Trans, See if its off then try to put it back if it could be screwed in . Good luck
