This is what my code scanner says:
P0234 Engine Overboost Condition
If you have a non-turbo model, then it's probably something else. It may be a bad turbo overboost switch. My S80 is non-turbo but I had an overboost switch go out on my Mercedes and it shut down the turbo but I had the same error message. Good luck!

Get your full weight on the left rear corner and give the car several bounces up and down to get some momentum going. Stop bouncing and watch the car. It should return and only bounce one half time more. Also worth looking at shock for signs of oil leaking. I suspect the rattling may be coming from a broken anti roll bar link. Once again a good look under the car is required.

SOURCE: 1999 Volvo s80 fuel line leak before and after the fuel filter
this perticular solution requires special fuel line tools to disconect the clips on the line. I would first locate the leak and determine if the entire fuel line is at fault or if it is just a connection. most commonly a piece of the line has deterieated and cracked and can be readily replaced with an OE part from a local parts house. a fuel line disconect for your vehicle can be gotten at the same parts place in most cases. Just ask the counter person what disconect it takes.
