The air conditioner in my 2004 Pontiac Vibe doesn't work on the first three settings, it only works when it's on high. I don't know much about cars, but my boyfriend says it could be the blower motor or the blower motor resitor. Any ideas?

a/c that is not providing cold air is caused by a leak of freon/refrigerant. have an a/c technician check your cooling system if it has leaks. after checking, have it charged with freon.

the fan relay(resister) that control fan speed is probably burned out.When this occurs it will only blow at high speed because its getting 12volts directly to the fan
