1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe 2.5 oil in spark plug tubes. Replacing valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals at top of tubes. Concerned about bottom of tube. Is that an area that might also be leaking? Should I re-seat the tubes? All 6 tubes were full of oil.

It is possible the tubes are leaking at the bottom but highly unlikely. There is next to 0 oil pressure in that area so the tubes would actually drain if leaking. I would start with the tube seals and gaskets as you have already planned and check it again later down the road like at the next oil change interval. You're on the right track for the repair, just be patient with the intake plenum and you'll do fine.

Oil in spark plugs

If you saw fresh oil, you were looking at valve cover gasket-seals leaking into the spark plug tubes.

Cause of oil in sparkplug tube?

1.your valve cover's spark plug chamber seal is leaking. Which requires removing the valve covers and replacing the gaskets and seals. 2. Excessive oil spills on to the valve cover and ignition coils when adding oil.

**This excess oil on the plug boots can cause the coils to short and eventually fail.

Engine oil flowing on the spark plug

Usually this is due to the spark plug tube seal allowing oil to escape from under the valve cover down the tube. You will have to remove the valve cover and replace the seals. You might consider replacing the valve cover gasket at the same time.

How are the spark plug tube seals removed?

you have to remove the valve cover and flip it over to access them, best off to get a new valve cover gasket as well.

Oil in number 1 cylinder, fouling out plug

is there oil actually in the cylinder? or is the oil in the tube that the spark plug body lives in? if it's just in the tube, then you only need a valve cover gasket set which comes w/ a round rubber seal for the top of each spark plug tube. if however, the oil is actually in the cylinder, then you either have a faulty piston oil ring or faulty valve seals. the repairs for rings/seals are a giant PIA. let's hope it's just the valve cover gasket set

ON 2002 ALTIMA 2.5 I FOUND OIL IN ONE TUBE WHERE SPARK PLUG IS WHAT SEAL ON VALVE COVER OR PLUG TOP SEAL WOULD CAUSE THIS...CAR DOES NOT LEAK OR BURN OIL AT ALL

I would try snugging down all the valve cover bolts before replacing anything. A valve cover gasket kit should have the grommets and gaskets necessary to repair this if you find no loose bolts.
