I have 2013 Honda CRV with Panasonic radio/CD. On the radio only not the CD I hear a faint pup pup sound, most noticeable over quiet music or in the pauses in speech, whether engine on or off.

SOURCE: Radio code for Honda CRV 1999

If the radio has not been changed in the past, then I am almost certain that your local Honda dealaship can help but as always they may charge you. There are auto centres that are equipt to change the radio code and they do charge.

SOURCE: honda crv engine light

I would go to your local Honda dealership and tell them the engine light came on. They will hook it up to a special computer and they will be able to tell you why the engine light came on and what's wrong with the car. Not sure what the cost will be to get it checked out. If you don't have the money for that right now.

SOURCE: 2002 HONDA CRV COLD ANTIFREEZE LEAK

this happens alot on older vehicles most often times because the coolant hose shrink and expand around a fitting. try and tighten all coolant clamps. this often is all it takes to solve the problem. you should also look to see that all seals around heads of engine show no seepage

SOURCE: MY 2007 HONDA CRV CAR RADIO LOCKED AND IS ASKING FOR CODE

inside glove box there should be a sticker with the radio serial number and code. if that has been removed then you could try the honda owners site. you'll need the vin # and some other info
I was able to get the code recently for my 2010 CR-V

Does the exhaust sound right at the tail pipe? Can you hear an exhaust sound? If it is VERY quiet,it may be a clogged catalytic converter and that can cause the problem you have.
It should be looked at in person, by a mechanic for an estimate before you change any parts.
2 estimates by 2 different mechanics never hurt.

My 2003 honda accord radio/stereo audio goes dead abruptly, all I hear is occasional static. Sometimes, if I turn it on/off the sound may come back for a little while then goes to static/quiet again....

It sounds like something in the output circuit since it is both radio and CD.Obviously it hasn't been doing it from day 1 of getting the car or you wouldn't be just asking now right? The connector is not likely just because it doesn't get touched or anything. It needs repair or you may want to try a salvage yard for a used one or maybe even a whole new aftermarket one (Sony,Panasonic, etc.)For repair you are looking at removal, shipping, repair probably around $40-$60/hour.Parts have at least a 20% markup by repair centers. It may be a $2 part bad too.I would call a Honda dealer or an electronics repair center and they should be able to tell you maybe a little but you can't get an accurate cost unless you send it in.They normally will not charge you to ship it back if you send it and decide not to repair.Good luck! 2007 CRV AM/FM radio works fine but CD player does'nt work

Sounds like the CD changer is defective, sometimes the dealer will offer a "one time goodwill" repair when it is out of warranty for miles but not for the time period. Check with the dealer where you purchased the car.
