SOURCE: need help finding inlet heater hose from fire wall to engine

The inlet going TO the heater core should be the top one (I think) but in any case it would be the one with the heater control valve on it (see picture below) Hope this is what you were looking for....

SOURCE: Im trying to flush the cooling system on a '97

Not positive about that engine, but the usual method is the heater inlet will come off the cylinder head somewhere and to the firewall, and the heater outlet (the return hose) will be at same place on the firewall and go to the water pump, very close or at the fitting where the lower radiator hose attaches to the water pump inlet.

My 2006 Aveo is leaking from the firewall side of the engine. impossible to see where its at. Please advise

Your talking antifreeze i asume if so its an issue with the heater core. If the heat still works good then it mabey a loose hose clamp on the out side of the fire wall witch would the best thing . If the cord is pluged it would cause this . Do you smell antifreeze with the heat on if so you likely have a hole in the heater core it self witch it needs to be replaces witch is not usely an easy job in most cases seeing that most of the dashboard needs to be removed to get at the core. However if it is a clog you may be able to clear it . You will need about 3 feet of 5/8s heater hose cut it in half so you have 2 peices about a foot and a half long . Remove the heater hoses from the out side of the fire wall and plug the short hoses on the nipples . Get a pot on pan something that will fit into the space and with a garden hose with a nozal gentley start forceing water back and forth between the two hoses and catching it in the pot not to much pressure at first and see what comes out . Then get the whole radiator system flushed and put new antifreeze in it . Antifreeze lasts about 5 years contaray to popular belive that it lasts forever and you just need to add to it. Its a 2006 do it now and it will save you later Good luck hope you don't need a new heater core

How do I flush the radiator

You can purchase a flushing kit from Prestone, you'll have to install a tee in one of the heater hoses to connect a garden hose to it. Pour some radiator flush in and run the car for a bit. Then shut off the car and let it cool down. Connect the garden hose to the tee and remove the radiator cap and turn on the hose, leave the water run until clear water is coming from the radiator. Turn off and disconnect it from the tee and replace the cap. Drain as much water from the radiator and refill the radiator and overflow bottle. Many oil change places can do it also. The have a machine to do it. Usually around $40-50.

Trying to flush radiator, where is plug in block, or can I just take bottom hose off radiator, to drain all coolant.

go to auto zone/ O"rileys and buy a flush kit, it is a kit that allows you to cut, a heater hose and install a TEE with a cap on it, the cap end is also the hookup for a water hose, wait until the engine is cool, cut the hose install TEE, hook up water hose, remove radiator cap, turn water on low, crank engine and flush until water is clear, reinstall cap and your block, radiator is flushed, don"t forget to put in coolant

Heater not heating, but it blows

Sounds like a clogged heater core, try flushing out the whole system and putting in a flushing Tee on to the heater core hose inside the engine compartment, There will be 2 hoses coming out of the fire wall possibley on the passenger side that go into and come out of the heater core, The Tee can take a garden hose connected to it,[3/4"] hose i think ,measure to be safe all you have to do is cut one of the hoses and install the Tee with 2 clamps and attach a hose, first i would attach 1 side to the Tee and attach the hose but don't attach the other hose just yet ,flush out the heater core first then switch the Tee to the other hose and leave off the other hose so that you flush out the core from the other direction and what ever is clogging up the core doesn't go into the rest of the system.then hook up everything and bring the vevicle up to temp and repeat this process [USE ONLY WATER TO FLUSH OUT ] BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF WITH THE HOT WATER , PUT A RAG OVER THE TEE WHEN DISCONNECTING THE LAST TURNS ON THE CLAMP.Also change out the thermostat under the hood.

How to change a heater core

Once you pull the dash out and get the old core out. If you have a copper one take a tubing cutter and cut the tubes in half that go through the firewall.Grt yourself two half inch copper couplers.Run the two pieces through the fire wall then drop the core in place connect then solder. If aluminum similar cut then flare both ends then connect with rubber heating hose and clamps and away you go. Then you don't have to disconnect air conditioning.
