SOURCE: car electrics

you do not need a relay if you are only running it for the trailer lights and DONT cut any wires on you focus loom use what they call scotch locks

SOURCE: Fitting a towbar for a caravan with 13pin europlug

black socket, black 7 core wire
pin 1 yellow left indicator
pin 2 blue, rear fog light
pin 3 white earth
pin 4 green right indicator
pin 5 brown right side/tail light
pin 6 red brake lights
pin 7 black left side/tail light

Grey socket grey 7 core wiring
pin 1 yellow, reverse
pin 2 blue, supplementary feed (ignition)
pin 3 white, earth
pin 4 green live feed (battery +)
pin 5 brown not connected
pin 6 red supplementary feed (ignition)
Pin 7 black earth

On the discovery there is a purpose made plug behind the panel on the drivers side rear, behind the rear lamp
i think the relay you have bought is for lamp failure you just need a normal 4 pin 30 amp relay.
Good luck Davelee

SOURCE: Tow bar trailer socket wiring connection point to car wiring?

The connectors for towing wire harnesses on foresters are generally on the passenger side, below the rear taillight inside the cargo space. some require pulling up the foam block that is between the spare tire compartment and the taillight. Check where you replace the tailights from inside the car, if there isn't a matching connector hanging out there, check around the spare tire compartment, see if you can remove the carpeted foam block next to the compartment and find the plug under there.

SOURCE: I am looking for wiring

if you fit the towbar yourself, you can kiss goodbye to your warranty.....peugeot are very strict on this.(assuming you are in Europe.)for USA,things may be different.anyway the wiring loom makers should put a diagram in with the wires....

Is there a fuse besides the 40 amp that will stop all the lights on my trailer from my 2002 2500 hd silverado ?

Depends on how the towing electrics are wired. With vehicles that use digital electronics it is best practice to use a multiway (or multiplex) relay with a single battery supply that should of course be fused.

There are a number of different ways to connect towing electrics.

You really need to know how your electrics are wired in order to troubleshoot them. My opinion about towing electrics and some of the people who wire them them is amazement that most of them work at all rather than dismay that they go wrong sometimes.

How do I install a wiring harness on a 1996 Chrysler Concorde to pull a trailer hook up the light harness

Lots of late model cars are fitted with a plug designed to make fitting a towing harness easy. Yours might have one of these, the dealer or the handbook should be able to tell you this.

Again lots of late model cars have a CAN-BUS system and in the absence of an integrated wiring socket a five-way relay and an independent supply should be used to power the trailer. This is a good idea for every car that must be wired the old-fashioned way even though it takes longer and costs a little more because the vehicle switches do not have to cope with the additional current load of the trailer lights.

Wiring the old-fashioned way can be made easier using Scotchloks but stripping the wire leading to each light and soldering the towing harness (or the relay harness) to it and re-insulating and finishing with a tiny cable tie is the best way for a reliable and long-lasting job. More detailed instructions are usually supplied with the towing harness.

Don't forget to also install a direction indicator (audio or visual) repeater alarm or tell-tale.

What are the correct wiring colour codes for the rear lighting circuits, so that I can tow a caravan?

under no circumstances cut any wires
the trailer plug is generic so proper trailer wires will have the correct colors for the plug pin numbers
by using a multimeter or circuit light you can determine which wire in the block is live and then connect the corresponding color in and then to the correct pin number in the plug
probably quicker if you get a tow bar shop to fit the plug for your
takes around 10 minutes to fit the correct harness that they will have

How to wire my tow bar on a vectra b estate

has your car got a bulb failure warning for rear lamps.?if so you will need a relay module to connect the wiring to the rear light clusters to the 7pin trailer connector if not its easy just connect the wirng from the bar to the rear lamps yellow to lh indicator green to rh indicator white to ground red to stop lights black to lh tail lamp brown to rh tail lamp blue to rear fog you may need to uprate the relevant fuses in the vehicle fusebox if you have a 7s aux socket then thats needs wiring to fit in with what you are towing cos there could be a differance as to how its wired but its norm is for a fridge interior lighting battery charging in a caravan etc.

Wiring tow bar electrics

Just tap off of the rear lights , You can do most of the wiring on one side and only have to tap the indicator off the other side.
shouldn't need a relay unless you have lots n lots of lights on the tailer.
Hope this helps.

Wiring in a tow bar

First I'm sure that a Festiva should probably only be towing body weight, But if you want to hook up a wiring loom for towing I would suggest buying a 4 lug loom from a auto store, then I would get a chilton or haynes manual to get the wiring diagram (or internet) then wire it up with **** connectors and electrical tape.

Auto wiring

you should use a relay so that the fridge is only powered when your kia engine is running. reason being to stop the towing vehicle going flat if connected direct onto the other battery when parked for a long time.if this wont be a problem as in you have a hook up when parked and not using the towing vehicle just connect the wire direct onto the battery thru a fuse.hope this helps
