SOURCE: 2000 buick lesabre stall after starting or after running for 30 minutes
I have a 1996 Lesabre. I had a similar problem that slowly got worse. I brought it to two different mechanics that did diagnostic checks and could only "suggest" what to replace to fix the problem. Their problem was that it wouldnt stall out while they had the mv. After replacing a bunch of sensors and the fuel pump/ filter, I solved the problem by replacing the Crank Sensor. Its located behind the lower crank pulley on the 3.8 lt motor. Hope this helps!

Check ecm for part number 1228253. If it has this number in it replace it with a 16198264. Gm had trouble with that ecm for a cutting off problem. Mine would stall driving down the road and when I would put it neutral it would start back up and not have any trouble for the rest of the day. You must set the tps with a volt meter or scan tool.

Most common reset is....... turn on the key (do not start) and depress gas pedal 3 times in 5 seconds.
Remove floor mat to do this.
It should be reset.
You may have to repeat this....it does always take on the first try.
2nd common......push mileage reset until oil life shows......once showing hold button down until 100% oil life shows.
You may have one or the other.

This is most likely a vacuum leak code, but it can also be alot of other things.

Fuel injectors go bad on these engines, you can find re manned ones for 30 bucks. If you have an engine light on get that read. Change your coil/wires/plugs also. Is the lower intake manifold gasket leaking coolant yet? You may want to get that replaced also. Check the TPS too (throttle positioning sensor) those will also cause your engine to act up
