Would need to see and hear it ,could be a starter fault or a ringear fault ,if automatic then the flex drive plate has split around the bolts where it is bolted to teh crankshaft .
If your starter is spinning and there is no clicking sound, the starter is NOT your problem. Check plugs; pull one and look at it, and make sure you can hear the fuel pump cut on when the ignition key is turned by a friend. (Pumps are often mounted inside the fuel tank these days, so go back there and listen to hear it come on.)
Try watching this video on how a starter works and you should be able to just replace the solenoid. This video covers several types of starters so yours should be one of them.

Do you mean the starter spins but doesn't seem to be engaging with the flywheel's gear? If this is the case, the solenoid is sticking physically in its chamber. So, the solution is to change the starter and get a new solenoid with on it that will work better.
Good luck on this repair.

Maybe worn out teeth on the starter gear. Also the starter could be even loose.
