Recently our mechanic told us that the Crossmember that runs from frame to frame and supports the Gas Tank is rusted badly. Is there a Recall on this, or can the part be replaced?

if it is a 4 cylinder then 3 cylinders not firing will contribute to it being difficult to start
if it is a 6 cylinder then it will start and run successfully on 3 cylinders as that is a method used to load an engine when setting emissions after installing LPG gas on a car
however 3 faulty injectors and low fuel pressure will stop a car from starting and I feel that the is the area you should be looking at after you run the fault codes
Hi, There are a lot of components that help to make the engine run. Most of them are computer controlled. I would have your mechanic check it out with a scan tool. (code scanner).
If one sensor is bad it can change a lot of things on how the car runs. Good luck.
sounds like you have a bad catalytic converter when they clogg your car cant exhaust and creats backpressure that stalls out your car the same thing with your air filter if its dirty your not getting enough clean air to the car... but because it runs 10 min... before it dies and you are getting no warning lights, and the car restarts after it cools down makes me think catalytic converter.... i hope this helps
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. More then likely, it is on the side where you put gas in. This is an easy way to find it. Go to your gas cap area and crawl underneath the vehicle. Follow the gas lines that go down the side of the car. You should run into it that way. Your gas lines usually run on the edge of the car underneath. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for using FixYa.
did you check the coolant level? , is a good place to start, a low coolant will make the car running hot, also check if the radiator fans are runing when the car reach the normal temperature, usually in the middle of the gauge..other than , I recommend you to take it to your mechanic to be checked for leaks in case is loosing coolant
Be careful there.. If you remove the Throttle Position Sensor TPS or the throttle Cable, the engine light will come on because there is a certain setting that needs to be done to ensure accurate emission control.
