1994 1500 Chevy 4.3 4L60e' 1st gear engages with a bang at 1000 rpms or so and bangs into 2nd,has nothing till 1000 rpms

Ck your trans modulator., and if not already done, you pan filter and fluids

It sounds like your input clutch seals are rolling. Is the check engine light on. It could also be the pressure control solenoid could be causing the problem aswell

yep you got internal damage to the 2-3 clutch packs worn or broken apply piston o-rings and weak servo pack waffers

In all probability, the transmission fluid has stopped doing its work. You should have changed ATF fluid and filter about 60k miles ago. Auto transmission on 1998-2002 Accords are notoriously weak. ( i own one). I would venture to say that you have abused the tranny beyond its possibilities. If D light is flashing, transmission computer has detected a problem. Change tranny oil and filter to see if you can save it but outlook is not good.

Dear Madam or Sir,

this is a well known problem with the Audi-transmissions, we do have a lot of failures with them over here in Germany. ;)

There are some software updates available, in many cases this fixed the problem.

Another possibility is a faulty transmission speed sensor, this is causing the hard shift behaviour.

First you should see the dealer to check the transmission control module´s trouble code memory and to check if there is a software update available for your car.

Lost 4th and 3rd gear on my 2004 gmc yukon 4x4. 1st and 2nd gear work only

If this is an automatic it appears that the servo case for the bands has blown the end out and the bands will not work any more. . I have seen it on transmissions as there is a fault in that the casting in this area is too thin and continual engagement of the bands fatigues this area and the housing for the piston cracks out. Pull the sump and look in that are at the base of the band .Do not pull the box yet as in some units it can be replace in car.

check your rear brake shoes if you had them changed recently they may not have been adjusted properly and that sometimes will cause that and also check the rear diff yoke where the driveshaft goes insometimes it get gear oil on it and harder for it turn. i would try these hints first before i take to shop

Dodge has a safety feature on there trannys. Its called limp home mode. If the computer detects a problem with the transmission, it will eather put it in 1st or 2nd and not change just to let you get out of the road or home if your near. But when you restart the car i will reset till it detects the problem again. But for as what the problem is it will be hard to say. With computer trannys you can have it hooked up and scanned for error code.
