Hi Rosetta Patterson, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
    1. How does it run good but miss?
?2. What engine is in that Dakota? Automatic, standard?
?3. Does it smell like fuel/gasoline when the vehicle has been sitting for a while, hasn't been started and ran for a few hours?

SOURCE: 95 dakota cranks but wont start

Well I'm a chrysler master tech & this is a little odd. There's alot of things not in the question so here are mine. I'm assuming it's a 3.9 no 4wd. When did this happen? When you check for power do you have some one turn the key on while you check? If still no power then make sure all the fuses are good from the one under the hood to the one inside the cab. Next be sure to check the grounds. You'll need to by a manual like a Haynes in order to get a decent wiring diagram. In a worst case senario the main power box under the hood has an issue & the asd relay gets no power, hence no start. Ran into it on a 95 caravan & it took a week to figure it out & no replacement was available & I had to hard wire it so it would run. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I smell gas fumes and when I turn the air or heat

it could be a leak in either your exhaust or the exhaust manifold gasket

SOURCE: i have a fuel smell

Under the hood look very closely at the fuel rail and injectors for any signs of seepage. Under the car look very closely at the seal where the fuel pump is mounted to the fuel tank.

My 2004 Mazda 6 had a similar problem. It smelled like gas inside the car and had code # P0456. I found that the PCV line was pinched. The line was not an Original Equipment. I replaced the line and the PCV valve. So far so good...

My 1994 dodge caravan has a slight exhaust smell inside the car while running. any ideas?

Three things come to mind. You may have an exhaust system leak. Or, the rear hatch is not closing good, or not sealing properly, allowing exhaust fumes to enter the rear compartment. If you drive with the rear windows open, the exhaust fumes will be drawn into the vehicle while the vehicle is moving. Just some ideas on where to look for the source of the fumes. Don't take the problem lightly. The fumes can be deadly, or at the very least, make you ill.

Gas Smell

check under hood while it is running to see if there is gasoline dripping anywhere. You need to find it before it catches on fire. Use a bright flashlight and look at the fuel injectors and loser intake manifold as injector o-ring could be leaking. DO NOT use a lighter. Sorry, but I had to stress this. Gasoline does not burn. The fumes burn.

2000 Dodge Intrepid with PO455 code and stalling.

A code 455 most likely one or more of the following has happened
a loose or bad gas cap
a non-conforming gas cap
other leaks or damage pieces in the evap system

Inspect the evap system for cracks or breaks in lines listen for vacume leaks or strong gas fume smell and fix all lines you find that are damaged ..I know you say you put a new gas cap but make sure it a conforming cap..Hope this helps

Fuel Smell in Car

I had this problem.  The fuel pressure regulator was leaking gas.  $50-$100 for a replacement.  It is not safe to drive around if you have a gas leak - could start a fire. Look under the hood to find where the gas is leaking, should be easy to see/smell when the car is running.  If you cannot find it, take it in to a shop right away.

Code 446 comes on and I smell gas

if that was the code for the purge vent solenoid i would say it is bad since you smell fumes. because that solenoid allows the vacuume from the engine while it is running to pull the excess fumes from the fuel tank and burn them off inside the engine. also might want to check lines under the hood associated with the solenoid to make sure excess air pressure from the fumes building up didn't blow a vac. line off. i would also check the condition of your fuel cap, if it doesn't seal good it could also cause a similar problem.
