I have a 2005 Grand caravan 3.3 with 236.000 miles it came up with a code P2308 ignition coil C secondary circuit ? No spark to cylinder 6 & 3 ?

It has new plugs & wires & new coil pack . the strange thing is when I clear the code and start the van it will run perfect for about 7 sec. then when the check engine lite comes back on it runs bad the way it did before terry also do any cylinders fire at the same time ?

    Hi terry , I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? After replacing the coil pack did you verify that there's spark from 3/6 coil when the engine is running poorly? Has it set any other codes? Could the coil driver be an issue? The driver is part of the pcm.

    no there is no spark on 3 & 6 I checked with my timing light . outer codes was misfire on 3 and 6 ... .. now the coil driver should not be an issue { because if I clear the codes from the pmc the engine will run good on[ all cylinder] for about 10 seconds UNTIL THE CHECK ENGINE LITE COMES ON again . then it is back to misfire on 3 +6

No cylinders fire at same time. 6 & 3 must be from same coil-ignition coil C-that is the one with the problem. And the secondary circuit- that is the spark firing portion of the coil. Coils have a primary winding circuit and a secondary wire winding circuit. The secondary comes out of coil as the tower, or the spark plug wire tower -the business end of the coil leading to the plug.

You could have a bad new coil (happens occasionally) or the connection to that coil may be the problem-the connection where the coil snaps onto the coil pack assembly. Try swapping that coil (coil C) with another one there and see if problem follows the coil. See? Keep your plug wires the same, just swap coils with another and see if the new position for suspect coil causes other cylinders to misfire. If a different coil in that "C" position causes same code, then it is not the coil itself, but probably the base assembly that the coil connects to.

These ignition systems use what is called a waste spark, or exhaust waste spark system. The coil will send spark to 6 & 3 simultaneously, but since one is always on the exhaust stroke while the other is on the compression (firing) stroke, the exhaust spark is very weak, and all the energy from coil is directed to the compression stroke cylinder. It sounds crazy but it works great.

Since you say it runs bad just as before, that indicates the coil is not the problem, but something wrong with the base of the coil pack . This is where the wiring is directed to the coils.

    like I said it { runs perfect } until the check engine lite comes on again so the coil , wires and plugs r good and the wiring is not bad . please read the whole thing

SOURCE: 2004 caravan 3.3 OBD code P2308 ignition coil "C" secondary circuit ? No spark to cylinder 6 & 3 ? plugs & wires good & new coil pack ??

This code could also mean the transistor inside the engine computer is fried . New PCM/ECM needed .

P2308 Dodge Description The current flow, or dwell, through the primary ignition coil is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) by providing a switched ground path through the ignition coil driver to ground. When the ignition coil driver is switched on, current rapidly builds up to a maximum value, determined by the coil inductance and resistance. When the current is switched off, the magnetic field collapses which induces a secondary high voltage surge and the spark plug is fired. This high voltage surge creates a flyback voltage which the PCM uses as a feedback during the ignition diagnostics. The PCM continuously monitors the ignition system for concerns. The P2308 code sets when the PCM detects a short to voltage in the circuit.

    A P2308 code is usually defined as "Ignition Coil 'C' Secondary Circuit." This is a generic powertrain code that applies to select modern vehicles that have OBD-II. Your vehicle's powertrain control module (PCM) can store a P2308 if it detects an abnormal voltage condition in the ignition coil's secondary circuit designated with the ...

I have a 05 town and country I have put new plugs ,wires,cool pack and fuel pump and I always had a miss then yesterday it started missing so bad u couldn't drive it it is code p2302 and codep2308

Codes translate as.....
P2302 = Ignition Coil "A" Secondary Circuit.
P2308 = Ignition Coil "C" Secondary Circuit.
You have a problem somewhere in the ignition system. 'Cool pack'? Did you mean coil pack?
It would be worth getting a good mechanic to test the fuel injectors as these can sometimes cause this problem.
Your only other option is to get a specialist to test the PCM (The Car's Brain).

2005 dodge grand caravan 3.8L code p2305 ignition coil b secondary circuit. has no spark on 2 of 6 cylinders. I have replaced the coil spark plug wires and spark plugs. found some broken wires for the...

Ouch! A case of the raucous rodent! I've been there...Not fun trying to track down and repair all the damage.

First of all, let me explain how the code sets: The computer monitors the PRIMARY side of the coil to determine the burn time on the SECONDARY side of the coil. This can be a little confusing. The code will set when the computer determines that secondary ionization (burn time) was too short, too long, or did not occur at all.
If you have confirmed that there is no spark at the spark plug wires, then that is why the code is setting...ionization is not occurring at all. What can be a little confusing is that this can be caused by a failure in the PRIMARY coil circuit even though the code is indicating that the computer is having a problem with the SECONDARY circuit. (The secondary circuit can malfunction even though the primary side is functioning perfectly, but if the primary side malfunctions, the secondary side ALSO malfunctions - it is impossible for the secondary side to work if the primary side is not working.)

So, I said all that to tell you this: I think you have pretty much eliminated the entire secondary side of the ignition by replacing the whole circuit. So the problem must be on the primary side. (Probably more chewed wires)
There are 4 wires going to your ignition coil. The BROWN/WHITE wire comes from the ASD RElay and supplies battery voltage to the coil assembly. Since the other four cylinders are firing, This wire has to be OK.
The code you are getting is for coil #2. This coil is controlled by computer through the DARK BLUE/TAN wire. If you disconnect your coil connector and probe this wire with a test light connected to the POSITIVE battery post, it should "blink" when to crank the engine over. My guess is that it will not be blinking. You can do this also on the BROWN/ORANGE (coil #1) wire and the DARK BLUE/DARK GREEN (coil #3) wire to see the difference.

Anyway, if the DARK BLUE/TAN wire does not blink, then the wire is broken (chewed?) between the coil and the PCM.

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan engine light on, missfire

That is a code for the secondary (spark) circuit on cylinder number 3. It is usually caused by a bad connection between the coil and the plug (take the coil off the plug and check for moisture in the boot). If not, it might be a bad coil...
