If there both 4.3's the interchange says the will fit but I have found that you need to look everything over well. I have found that some have knock sensors with different sizes (2 wire and 1 wire) and the oil pan and pump sometimes have to be swapped going from 2wd to a 4wd. Sit them side by side and check everything is my best advice.
You have to reove the upper plenum. that is the part on top of the intake that looks like a dome on top of the lower intake. There is 8 10mm bolts around the outside of the dome part. the disconnect the fuel lines at back of lower intake and remove the cpi unit.
The 2000 4.3 will fit in the Blazer. If the engine previously in the Blazer was a 4.3, it should be a direct changeover. Any parts differences you can use the parts off the old motor to make it work. Some connections may be different, but can be worked around.
check the crank sensor also the cam sensor as well even dirt around or on the crank sensor can cause weak fire! on vorteck! also check the ignition module itself
The years of 1996 to 2002 with the engine code L35. Just becareful that the year 2002 is the change over year from L35 to LU3.
The L35 fuel system is the SCPI (Sequential Central Port Injection)
The LU3 fuel system is the MPFI (Muilti Port Fuel Injection)
Good luck and hope this Helps.
