Re: what is the power of engine truck dodge d-500 6...
I think the biggest slant sixes were 225 cubic inches with a 1 bbl carb and 145hp@4000rpm and 215#/ft of torque@2200rpm. A D500 may have had something else, but if it's a "Slanted" engine, I'd bet on 145hp. Seems kinda small for D500....

Chevy trucks produced in 1964 are part of the modern V-8 engine era of trucks. The standard engines were 230 and 292 cubic-inch, six-cylinder engines for all two-wheel drives. In 1964, these engines were available for four-wheel drive pickups also. The 283 cubic-inch, V-8 engine was optional. The V-8 engines did not begin to outsell the V-6 until 1967. Two-wheel drive models were rear-wheel drive.
The D-500 had a maximum gross weight rating of 19,500 pounds, and could have a 14-ton hoist with extension boom. The standard engine was the 225 slant six, with 318 and 361 V8s optional. The new LA series 273 V8, lighter but as powerful as the old A-series 318, was optional.
Firing order, is : 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. (clockwise) #1 on cap should be front and center and #2 should be to right of it when standing in front of engine. # 1 cylinder is front right head.
