Do you mean the door operating mechanism in the door or a door lock to this oldie ? if so its a doddle trust me just take it out complete ,if this vehicle is similar to a focus or a fusion one nut at back of door handle ? three on the lock and take it out complete with the anti theft shrouds the lot .simple

you can TRY to remove glovebox and all wiring and nesicary panels but it would probably take the same amount of time as it would to do the job properly.

My right sliding door's lock doesn't function either. I took off the door panel and found that the lock mechanism was broken. Normally I would think this strange, as the lock mech is metal. But since this is a Plymouth product, I some how think it should be normal for something to break off without it ever getting a direct hit. I can only assume that my kids closing the door too hard might have had something to do with this. Anyway, the whole lock mech needs to be replaced, and I haven't even tried to see how much that will cost me. This Van has cost twice in repairs than what I paid new for it. (just kidding, but it sure feels like it). If you have an answer to this query

I recently did mine, I hear you can do it without taking the entire dash apart but I had no luck with it myself. I have to get ready for work but, on mine it was located down and to the left of the radio. its a white box...are you hearing a clicking noise or something? I had to roll the entire dash back and it was still a major pain getting it out.
