Hi Shaun,I also have a 85 nissan 720 4x4 with the 2.4 engine, also have a Weber carb.here is a link that I sent someone awhile back that wanted to know the coil wiring,I replace both of my coils not long ago,the exhaust one was bad so I changed both,it's the second time i've done this, had my truck since 92.Need more help, let me know. 720World here's a picture of mine.

SOURCE: Speaker replacement
They still follow the GM standard:
LF+ tan
LF- gray
RF+ light green
RF- dark green
LR+ brown
LR- yellow
RR+ dark blue
RR- light blue
Note that if you're looking for them behind the radio, some of the same colors may be used on other wires. The speaker wires should be placed side-by-side for each speaker.
Also, if you're replacing the factory radio, I highly recommend buying a wire harness adapter instead of cutting off the factory plug.

The colour coded wires seem to differ at randomn. To identify the cables:
Dizzy:- use a multimeter set on ohms.. When you measure about 3 meg ohms, your red probe is on the +ve wire and the black probe is the signal to the coil.
For the coil, it hard to measure the primary resistance so the general convemtion is looking at the pins on the coil with the taper at the top, the +ve is on the right and the signal (coil -ve) is on the left. Sometimes you'll notice one of the wires on the coil is a thicker gauge, which is generally the +ve.
SOURCE: trailer light problem
Check it with a test light. White-ground, Yellow-left turn, Green-right turn, Brown-tailights. Check it on the truck first. There are seperate fuses for just the trailer wiring in the fuse box under the hood. The Blue and Red wires are for Trailer brakes, don't worry about those.
SOURCE: poor idle
my truck was doing the same thing, i tried to adjust the idle screw and replace the ignition system but it didnt help. What i did was replace the carb with a webber and the problem was solved. I'm not saying to buy a webber but you might just need to rebuild your carb or something similar
