I know the keys have little immobilizers in them that looks like a pill almost. Try putting the fob next to the key inside the ignition as if it were still attached, and see if that makes a difference, and you can buy new fob shells on ebay for around $5 if you look hard enough

Put some crazy glue at the end of the key but not too much that is going to drip inside the keyhole of the ignition and see if that will glue two broken keys back together and wait 5 minutes and then pull it out you do have to hold the key pushing in so that the glue will work

SOURCE: Immobiliser light flashing and car

Hello, do you know what the locksmith did to get the code on your key? Did anything else flash on the screen when the car would not start. My car is doing the same thing, and my Jaguar dealer is 200 miles away. My screen is showing [Engine Fault, Transmission Fault and DSC Fault]. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

SOURCE: the driver side door lock broke on my 98 jetta door want open

according to my partsman (who has had great advice for many years), you do not have to remove the door panel to replace the door handle which contains the cylinder lock. the handle is released with a screw which you can see when you open the door. you will need a starhead screwdriver or socket. A new handle costs around $40 at a parts store in my area. call around for a locksmith who will re-key your key to the new lock or use the key which comes with the new lock, your choice. i am in dealing with this also

My Volkswagen Jetta won't start after disconnecting and re connecting the battery.

Anti-Theft security system reset

Use Your remote key FOB and press the unlock button. Unlock the driver's side door using the key and switch the ignition to the ON position, but don't start the vehicle. If it's still triggered, roll up all the windows and exit the vehicle, then lock the driver's door with the key.

I am locked out of my 2002 VW Beetle, The key FOB is in the trunk and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on accessing the trunk?

Do you AAA, or roadside assistance? They will unlock it. Buy a VW Key, get code from dealership by VIN#, have locksmith make a key or dealership.

Everytime you trie to start my 1997 Jetta G.O. the alarm goes off, how do i disconnect the alarm without unhooking the battery?

Try unlocking it from the passenger door (with the key). the driver door lock has a weak connection that wears out, then the car doesn't "know" you unlocked it from driver's side. Do you have the key fob to unlock it? If so, use it (unlock) then open the pass. door.

Dead key fob

Hi, You need to separate the fob part from the key. This is done by using a flat head screwdriver in the slot provided. The slot is mid way on the track that the key folds into. Once you have the key split the fob can then be split , the battery is inside.
