SOURCE: Car won't shut off

That happened to me years ago,so i may not be acurate on this but try this anyways...check the wires between the starter solenoid - aternator - and wiring whip to the vehicle,i think its a single light gray wire you would be looking for.check to see if its broken or shorted out...this info may not be right where to look, but i know its in that area.

SOURCE: Car just stopped running. Lost power suddenly.

Find an inductive pickup indicator for spark. Place on distributor cap to see if spark is at coil internal tower. If no spark at internal tower, look at ignition module or pickup coil. Ignition modules are prone to failure on 626's. But if you have spark at tower but not at the wire end, then your rotor is gone.

SOURCE: 2002 ford explorer eddie bauer crank but won't start up.

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPEDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

SOURCE: '95 nissan quest stalled at a stop. Will not start, only cranks

I worked on a '93 Quest last year. Couldn't find out why it wouldn't start. It was the distributor shaft not held onto its rotating gear. The roll pin had come out of the gear on the end of the distributor shaft. When the distributor cap was off, the rotor was turning with the shaft while the engine was cranking. So I thought that was okay. But when I put my finger on the rotor and it stopped turning, that is when I found out the problem. It's a stretch, but maybe the techs missed it. Take the cap off, and if you can spin the rotor either way just by hand, the distributor gear has come loose.

Looks like they really covered a lot. I suppose next they will you to replace the ecu. Good luck.

Sounds like anti-theft system problem ! There is a little red light center top of dash pad , When you try to start the vehicle does the light flash fast ? If the vehicle thinks it's being stolen it won't let truck crank over an it turns off the fuel injectors !

My 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition will not start....was running/driving without any problems...drove to work..after work stated up and went to pull out of lot, realized I needed to run back in...

Can you jump the starter at the starter and does it work then? Also check that the main thick power wire is still attached to the large starter terminal as the large power connection is known to corrode apart.

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4L. While I am driving the car suddenly dies. I have to pull over and re-start it with no problems. I took it to a shop and they said it might need a tune up...

are you getting any jerks/shutter while driving??If so, try replacing all 8 coils. They're pricey ($28-65 each), I have an 03 Expedition FX4 w/5.4L and it used to ****/shutter around 50-65mph and then just die. Restarts and its fine, then dies randomly again!! Replaced all spark plugs, all 8 coils runs great!!
