Chrysler concorde car wont shift from reverse to park

IT could still be the neutral switch that is not adjusted properly and registering the straight ahead position but if you have a column shift I would say that the neutral switch is way out of adjustment as the switch works off the selector position and not where the wheels are pointing.

u gut some issues with the tv shift cable that is on the throttle body--ajust it--a mech manual shows u--library sec 629--if that doesnt du it then chec fluid level and cond-cud need changn-dont flush it tho--with older car-shift solenoids or valve body issue are common or more--maybe git it test driven by a honest mechanic

It can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt. Also get the ****** fluid checked. If it's low, then such problems occurs.

The shifter needs to be inspected. If The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

its possible that a sensor has gone bad,have it checked out by a transmission shop to find out what it is and what may have caused it.

Try adjusting your linkage and the neutral safety switch.

you might have a bad neutral safety switch thats going out will cuase this problem and never set off check engine light they are the senser in the shifter below park n d r etc hope this helps

With a partner and engine off but key in on (not start) position: Have them shift from Park to Low one gear at a time, while you watch the shift linkage located on top of the transmission. Sounds like the shift cable is loose. IF SO: Place Shift Lever in Park. Loosen the the cable adjustment screw. Move the shift rod (going into the transmission) towards the front of the vehicle until in Park. Tighten the cable adjustment screw to 100 in-lbs. Check Park/Neutral starting only.

Sorry but if your reverse is having trouble you will probably have to replace or rebuild tranny like me. Otherwise try new filter and fluid first.
