Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the oxygen sensor, the error is because the difference in readings between the sensors I don't know what you mean about 5V

    If the code or error for the oxygen sensor is gone and not showing on the obd reader, there is no reason to change that sensor. The 5 volt error is due to the PCM using the air conditioner sensor voltage as a reference and it is not seeing 5 volts, this could be a bad sensor, bad connection etc.

it means your cars computer is pumping too muchgas into your motor because it thinks the engine is either running lean possibly due to faulty o2 sensors or that the coolant temp sensor is giving false readings and the ecm thinks the car is still too cold.

replace the input speed sensor to transmission and the wiring pigtail all are available at your chrysler dealer take your vehicle registration in to the parts counter so they have your vin # to get the right part and it is the front of trans by fluid linres to radiator.

Anytime I get a too lean DTC I first change the fuel filter if it hasn't been changed in awhile. You'd be surprised how many times this has helped.

The engine control module (ECM) controls the air/fuel metering system in order to provide the best possible combination of driveability, fuel economy, and emission control. Fuel delivery is controlled differently during Open and Closed Loop. During Open Loop, the ECM determines fuel delivery based on sensor signals without oxygen sensor (O2S) input. During Closed Loop, the O2S inputs are added and used by the ECM to calculate short and long term fuel trim (FT) fuel delivery adjustments. If the O2S indicates a lean condition, FT values will be above 0 percent. If the O2S indicate a rich condition, FT values will be below 0 percent. Short term FT values change rapidly in response to the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) voltage signals. Long term FT makes coarse adjustments in order to maintain an air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1. If the ECM detects an excessively lean condition, DTC P0171 or P0174 sets.
Diagnostic Aids
• Excessive resistance in the fuel injector ignition 1 voltage circuit or the fuel injector control circuit may cause the following symptoms:
- Lean condition
- Misfire
- Rough idle
• The system will go lean if an injector is not suppling enough fuel.
• A lean condition could be present during high fuel demand.
• A malfunctioning MAF sensor can cause this DTC to set. Refer to DTC P0101 .
• Review the Failure Records with a scan. If an intermittent condition is suspected, refer to Intermittent Conditions .

DTC Descriptors
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
• DTC P0420 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 1
• DTC P0430 Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2

This code could mean the catalytic converter on that bank has failed .

P0300 is a random miss fire , a vacuum leak can cause this as well as low fuel pressure ! weak fuel pump , clogged fuel filter !

Circuit/System Description
The fuel pressure sensor is located on the fuel line. The fuel pressure sensor monitors the fuel pressure in the fuel line. The fuel pump flow control module (FPCM) monitors the voltage signal from the fuel pressure sensor.

You don't say what make , model an year vehicle ! These are for GM vehicles , yours could mean something else . Except the first three , those are genaric codes , same for all makes ! 2000 tundra v6 dtc p0172

172, are USA standard, spec, DTC error.
and as such , all posts covering it should be same.
P0 means fed, rules.
this only means, this sensor reads too rich.
mostly it is 2 things, #2 is vast things.
1: the sensor is bad. B1S1. (bank1sensor 1) sensor 1 is front.
2: Air fuel ratio , fueling is very very rich,

a technician does more tests to find the true cause.
You could replace and over 100k mile sensor, and find it still throws
172s./
that means the EFI is out of control, its rich for many reasons
1: too high fuel pressure? use a gauge.
2: leaking injectors. (same gauge above doing the leak down test stated in the FSM. and not skipping the injector balance tests.)
3: Misfire , for any reasons, (vast) that cause EFI to go rich.

hard to beat this list, but there are many tests to do
even coolant temps, wrong.

what engine, no engine size stated so i must generalize. (hard)
you got a CEL then pulled the DTC, bravo that.. well done!@
B1S1 or B1S2, posting the actual DTC wins here,
any other DTC'S or running symptoms?????????????????????
my guess is B1S1 , due to lean lookup. bank 1 sensor 1.
S1 is the keystone of engine fueling (at idle or steady cruise) .
It determines the final air and fuel air mixtures.

the sensor can be bad.?
or any cracks in the exhaust near it.????? (fresh air is 20% oxy)
or engine really is lean.
see , 2 logic reasons, sensor bad or good and is lean for real.

if car has 100k on it, its due, for a change, anywhy
so do that.
then if it comes back, then it real (no cracks)
why is my engine really real.
its lean for a large number of possible reasons...
1: low fuel pressure.
2: MAF stuck high, or if MAP car, map reading to high.
in simple English the air sensors are fibbing showing Low air when it really air.
the air sensors. are the prime sensors.
all fuel is injected based on them. (and temperatures)

3: air leaks, on MAP cars, it dont go lean only races.
3b: air leaks on MAF , causes lean conditions, (most modes)
on a maf based engine any induction leaks too big will cause
the B1S1 sensor to loose control at idle or low speed cruise,Hot)

there are other reasons.. many.
the above is basics.
let it be said, the engine that misfires, sends a slug of oxygen
to the sensors. and causes it to mess up.
this is the bad deal with all narrow band oxy sensors...
they dont see misfire. correctly.


what we do in a shop is see if we can wake up the sensor
(no cracks found in header)
(S1 is the PRE CAT sensor , one more way to say it)
we force the EFI rich, and scan and graph the S1.
how? , well there are 2 ways.
1: is add propane gas to the induction, (air cleaner works)
2: or force fuel pressure higher, on MAF cars, we pinch the vacuum
'hose to the Fuel pressure reg, this makes it go about 10psi higher.
now you know a trick. or two.
the o2 will go rich showing that it is alive. if not , its dead.
or has horrid levels of oxygen flowing by it.
(gross misfire, burned exhaust valves, gross induction air leaks., etc)

Code 1150 on a 1997 ford f 150 with a 4.2 motor

I will try to paste an article for you. Several sources indicate this is a Bank 2 O2 sensor problem and that it is failing to switch and adjust for the fuel mix. But as you can see, many defects can lead up to this O2 sensor Code 1150.

I would try to use a spray bottle of water and go around the Intake manifold and spray the water while the engine is running. An intake leak will draw water into the engine and change RPM.

If no success then try changing the O2 bank 2 sensor. You may need to wipe the computer and clear the Code. H40 DTCs P1131, P1132, P1151 AND P1152: UPSTREAM HO2S NOT SWITCHING. DTC P1130: FUEL SYSTEMicon1.png NOT SWITCHING AT FUELicon1.png TRIM (RICH OR LEAN)
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P1131 bank 1 (Cylinder 1) and P1151 bank 2 indicate the fuel/air ratio is correcting rich for an overly lean condition. The HO2S voltage is less than 0.45 volt. DTCs P1132 bank 1 (Cylinder 1) and P1152 bank 2 indicate the fuel/air ratio is correcting lean for an overly rich condition. The HO2S voltage is greater than 0.45 volt.
DTC P1130 and P1150 indicate the fuel control system has reached maximum compensation for a lean or rich condition and the HO2S is not switching.

For a 2000 Saturn SL2 DOHC I am getting a C0133 ODB Code. It is for the O2 Sensor but which one? The upper at the exhaust manifold or the lower for the catalytic converter.

how about a PO133 ,,,should be the first in system

The Oxygen Sensor 1 (O2S-1) is an electrical source that responds to oxygen content in the exhaust manifold. When the sensor reaches approximately 316°C (600°F), it produces a voltage based on the difference in oxygen between the atmosphere and exhaust gas. The PCM sends a bias voltage (391-491 mV) on the signal line which is pulled up through high resistance. When the O2S-1 is cold, it produces no voltage and has extremely high internal resistance. The internal resistance of the sensor is much greater than the resistance of the bias pull-up resistor. However, when the sensor heats up, it produces voltage that overrides the bias voltage. This voltage is read by the PCM to determine a rich/lean O2S-1 signal used to adjust injector pulse width. Under normal conditions, low sensor voltage means high oxygen content/lean air-fuel mixture and vice versa. Normal sensor readings will fluctuate between 10 mV and 999 mV DTC P0133 sets when the O2S-1 signal rich to lean or lean to rich average response time is too slow.

DTC PARAMETERS
DTC P0133 will set if the average response time of the LEAN to RICH switches is greater than 125 ms or the average response time of the RICH to LEAN switches is greater than 156 ms for 100 seconds when:
^ Engine speed is between 1500 and 3200 RPM
^ Loop status is closed
^ Calculated air flow is greater than 7 gm/s
^ Commanded air/fuel ratio is 14.7 to 1
^ No cam, CKP, ECT, EGR, EVAP purge solenoid, fuel trim, IAT, MAP misfire, system voltage or TP sensor DTCs have been set.

DTC P0133 diagnostic runs continuously once the once the above conditions have been met.

DTC P0133 is a type B DTC.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Possible causes of DTC P0133:
^ An intermittent connection or corrosion in the O2S-1 harness connector can set this DTC. Use Scan tool to monitor O2S-1 voltage with engine running at normal operating temperature while wiggling the signal and ground wire. Make sure the sensor is tight.
^ The most probable cause for DTC P0133 is contamination. Check for obvious contamination (oil, fuel or engine coolant) by removing sensor. Identify and correct the cause of the contamination if contaminated. Replace the O2S-1.

What is po133 code on 1997 sc2 saturn

DTC P0133Circuit Description


After achieving closed loop fuel control, a commanded air fuel ratio of 14.7:1, RPM between 1,500-3,200, and air flow between 7-25 grams per second, the PCM will continuously monitor the front oxygen sensor signal for 100 seconds. During this time, the PCM counts the number of rich to lean and lean to rich switches. To be considered a switch, the voltage must go below 300 mv and above 600 mv. The PCM also keeps track of the time it takes to make the switch. The number of switches along with the time to achieve these switches are used to calculate the average response time to perform each switch. Also this information is used to calculate if the proper ratio of the switches is correct. The 3 diagnostic trouble codes listed below are used to identify different types of faults that can occur with oxygen sensors.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

DTC P0133
This DTC is set if the average response time of the switches from the sensor is too slow after the 100 second test is performed. If the lean to rich time is greater than 125 ms or the rich to lean time is greater than 156 ms, this code will set.

Repair Procedure
The oxygen sensor wiring and connections should be checked if any of these DTCs are set because corrosion or loose connections could cause these DTCs to set.
The most likely cause of setting any of these DTCs is contamination. This contamination could be caused by fuel, improper use of RTV sealant, engine oil, or coolant contamination.
The source of contamination should be identified and corrected before replacing the sensor.

You may have poor plug wires, or even a low compression cylinder. Also, make sure the air filter is clean. Your oxygen sensor (upstream) the one closest to the engine has detected a rich condition.
