Remove alternator fuse 2006 rav4. Have it apart but cant get fuse out

The fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual.

Has the battery been tested? Are the battery cables free of corrosion and are tight.

You can remove the fuse for the ECU or remove the battery for 10 mins or so ,should do the job. You probably have to drive the car through all its gears at varying revs before the ECU gets a chance to re-learn it'self

remove neg battery lug first
or blow main fuses or get an acid bath.

check all fuses gauges fuses alt fuse by batt if fuses are ok have pcm reflashed

Yes it does. I am currently looking on what bulb to use to replace it. I had to take the center console apart to get to it.

On the battery on the positive section are fuseable link they are hard to see this protect the P/S it also turn on the alternator light and vice versa you need to check the fuse at the battery and also check the charging system

Assuming a healthy car battery - most probable cause is dying alternator not supplying enough current to recharge the battery. The battery light lights up when it doesn't supply enough power.

Most plausible fix either a replacement of the alternator or the voltage regulator. Refurbished alternators can be supplied by Toyota as well.

Less common is a broken belt driving the alternator.

if i recall correctly about a 30 - 40 minute job its mounted on top of the engine so easy to get to. theres just a couple of nuts and bolts to remove alternator along with wiring on the back of it. JUST REMEMBER TO DISCONNECT BATTERY EARTH LEAD FIRST then reconnect when new alternator fitted, ensure alternator drive belt is tensioned correctly also. hope this helps
