SOURCE: 95 dodge dakota heater blower not working
It has been a long time since I've replaced one of those. From what I remember you don't have to go through pulling the heater box out. You do need to remove the glove box assembly. Look up under the passenger side of the dash. If you see the bulge of the motor/cover hanging straight down then remove the cover and the motor will be there. If you don't see that then te motor is mounted horizonally. If that is the case then the fresh air door assembly will need to be removed and it is behind that.
Here is a quick check to see if the motor is bad. Thump the bottom of the heater box by the passenger's feet. if the motor comes alive or makes noise then it is bad. Also check the fuse and make sure that it doesn't work on any speed. (the resistor would prevent operation on only one speed or more but generally not all speeds)

previous answer is not correct , 1995 dakota's have the newer electronic speedo and tach system. there for if your speedo and or tach isnt working you want to make sure that its wiring clusters on the back have not come unplugged or have gotten any corrosion, if all is correct behind the instrument cluster then check your manual for the fuses and relays that are at the main junction...then if all your fuses and relays check out then you have option 1 or option 2...which are as follows .... option 1 you have a broken or grounded out wire or option 2 which is your cluster is toast :( .....the only other possible option is your speed control unit system ...some models its the sensor in the back axel ....it could be mis reading or not reading at all....then you have to replace the $30 + or - sensor...good luck GO MOPAR!!
