2007 Kia spectra trunk is jammed shut

How can I remove or fold down the back seat of the car to gain access to the trunk. The lock opens the the trunk does not pop open and I can't seem to pull or pry it open either.

If you push down on the back seat near the door there is a metric bolt you can remove, this will allow you to pull up on the smaller seat cushion nearest to door. This will allow you to fish your arm back and grab a hold of the cable pull to release seat past speakers. After that you climb into the trunk and use trunk release to open trunk. On the lock assembly on the trunk lid there is a small switch that says unlock/lock, make sure to switch to unlock and everything should work fine.

My trunk won't open on my car. What am I to do now?

Robert, check your fuses and replace if bad as a first step. If fuses are good, then you will have to remove rear seat and back to access inside trunk release (located by driver side inner rear quarter, in trunk), if you have a manual it should show this. When and if you gain access to the latch, you will want to lubricate it really well in case it is just sticking, if you can not free up or you find actuator is not working replace the defective parts. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Can back seat of Chevy Impala fold down for trunk access in 2007 Impala?

The back seat of the Impala can only be folded down if your vehicle is the particular fold-down version, otherwise, it'll have to be removed entirely to gain access to the massive available space.
To remove the seat, follow these steps:
• Push down on the bottom cushion of the back seat.
• Pull-on the T handles which are under the front edge of the seat, to release the bottom cushion
• Remove the cushion
• Unwind the nuts and bolts on the bottom part of the back seat. Then lift it, and it would be released from its position.
• Now, remove the seat from the back and you can access the trunk.

How do i get the back seats down to gain access to the trunk? It wont open

1. You either have a section of rear seat that folds down or you don't. Most cars do and those vehicles will have a manual tab just behind the seat that is connected to a cable that will release the trunk lock unless the lock is broken. So check the top of your rear seat sections for release buttons that enable a section of seat to be folded down. Then look just inside the opening for the manual cable release.

2. If you have a car with no section of rear seat that can be folded down, you will have to unbolt the rear seat to get access to the trunk. You need to remove the bottom section of the seat first. This will just pull up from the front and you can remove it from the car. Then you should be able to access the bolts that hold the upright section of seat in place.

I locked my keys in the trunk of my 2011 Kia optima. I am inside the passenger compartment how can I open the trunk to get my keys?

To avoid getting it towed to the dealer (where they'd remove the rear seat to access the trunk),
you can get out your socket set/tool kit and remove the rear seat yourself and reach into the
trunk. If this car has fold-down rear seat(s) or bolster(s), simply fold them down and reach in.
Haynes manual (or online manuals) for this car aren't yet accessible, but a call to your Kia
dealership's service dept. may get a mechanic on the line who can give you a few good tips, or
pay a handy neighbor to figure out how to remove (and re-install) the rear seat to get access to
the trunk...

Trunk wont open and the back seat wont fold down on our kia optim

By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good, with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.
