Hello Cory,

Your owners manual s a good place to start looking for traction control information...If you don't have the owner manual... if your model has traction control you should see a light on the instrument panel cluster when it engages.

Some models may have a switch to turn off the traction control but I am unable to locate a owners manual for your 2006...

SOURCE: turning off traction control on a 2006 grand cherokee

there is no option to turn it off. if, however, you remove the abs fuse you will have disabled the track control as well as the abs.

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Five Hundred traction control light on all the time.

The traction light came on in my Ford 500 SEL along with the ABS light. If this happened, the problem was low battery power and a bad alternator. A fully charged battery fixed it for me after driving a couple of miles.

SOURCE: On my 2006 Ford 500 the traction control light came on

when this light stays on it meands that the electronic control module has sensed a fault in the system and has diabled the Traction control, to find out wha this fualt is requires a trip to the local Ford dealer for a fault code test of the traction control system and diagnosis of the code found in the memory of the system.

SOURCE: Snow Tires without TPMS on 2006 Ford Freestar

I've used non TPMS winter rims on my 2006 Freestar for years. Everything works fine except that the TPMS monitor indicates a low pressure warning, which you can cancel by pressing the reset button on the dash if you want to view other information on the digital dash display.

This symbol came up on my dash (!)

This symbol is typically associated with your brakes, traction control, skid control etc. It could be something relatively simple to get fixed. I recommend you go to a certified mechanic and have them scan the code(s) if you can get me the codes i will be able to tell you exactly what your problem is. Could be something as simple as a warning that your brake pads are getting low and need to be replaced. I can save you a lot of time and $$ if you are able to get the codes. Usually a shop will charge an hours labor to scan these types of codes.
Please advise,

The traction control light stays on all the time in my ford territory 2006 how do i fix it

It might be that one of the wheel speed sensors has the wire broken off or moved out of position. The computer thinks the wheels are not turning at the same speed and keeps the light on.

The electronic traction control (ETC) is on because of a sensor failure. Run fault codes to find out the reason for the misfiring when the light comes on . It may be connected to a limp mode in the CPU to slow down the car when the ETC has a problem

2006 Ford Five Hundred traction control light on all the time.

This is a computerized traction control system that monitors the wheel spin and makes split second adjustments... if the light is on, Ford recommends servicing the system. I'd check with a local non-dealer mechanic that may be able to help you out cheaper than a dealer first.
