The radiator drain is on the right lower corner of the radiator (passenger)
You can use a wide flat blade screwdriver to unscrew it.
Is is held in by a piece of plastic so you don't have to worry about losing it when draining. just loosen it and leave it there.

Hi there,

They are always at the bottom of the radiator. Some are on the side facing the engine, others face straight down. Both types are much more easily detected from beneath the vehicle

SOURCE: How to replace the radiator drain petcock on a 89 k2500

There common to break off, you can pick up the replacement drain plug at NAPA and buy a stud retracter to remove the drain plug. if the plug is not leaking, Leave it alone and to drain the radiator, just disconnect the lower radiator hose on the opposite side of the radiator.

Good luck and hope this helps you on your project.

How to drain radiator coolant

Radiators usually have a valve/petcock located on the engine side of the radiator down at the bottom. Valve turns like a bolt and antifreeze coolant will drain out into your drainpan. Use care as coolant is poison and needs to be disposed of properly. After radiator has drained, retighten petcock and fill to the appropriate level.

Radiator drain plug how do i open it to drain the radiator

You don't. You never open the petcock on radiators with plastic tanks because the petcock always breaks. If it doesn't break, it'll leak when you close it. No pro ever uses the petcock. You loosen the lower radiator hose clamp and yank the lower radiator hose. You'll take a bath, but it'll all be drained in about 1.5 mins. Then reconnect. You'll actually drain far more coolant that way too.

Locate the radiator's drain petcock on the far right, bottom corner of the radiator. The petcock on the radiator should be either black or red. It will be flat on both sides and resemble the wind-up dial on a music box.

How do you drain the radator?

You will need to remove the radiator cap. Then you need to locate the petcock (drain plug) on the bottom of the radiator. Remove the petcock by carefully loosening it. You may need to use a pair of pliers but be careful not to break the petcock. When you reinstall the petcock make sure not to over tighten it, it should be snug but not tight.
