Was driving beautifully and I came t a stop sign an when I went to go my rover wouldn't move, no warning
Code p 0884 refers to transmission control module (TCM)--power input signal intermittent malfunction==== causes ---wiring ---poor connections ---TCM
While that code appears what you have indicates that the torque converter clutch servo/ solenoid is not operational hence no drive action
The TCM could be affect that or you may have 2 problems
SOURCE: not moving in any gear
Have you checked the High-Low ratio lever. Half-way between High and Low is a Neutral, so no drive to any axle even if a gear in the main box is selected.
Try locking the differential. If this gives you drive, then it might be a final drive (half-shaft) failure.
SOURCE: Ford taurus 1995 will not move when started
i have a 2001 ford taurus and it did the same thing a while back, call the dealer and ask them for the sensor that is behind the brake pedal. It is not the transmission .. cost less that 25 bucks to fix and takes about 20 min
SOURCE: ABS LIGHT ON, SHIFT LOCKED, NO BRAKE LIGHT.
If your brake lights don't work Its because you blew the fuse which Is located In the main fuse panel under steering wheel. Without break lights your rover will fire up nice but wont shift out of park until you replace the fuse. If your ABS Is acting up It Is also an easy fix. Disconnect the ABS from each wheel. You still got all wheel disc breaks that work great but no ABS. Your other option is thousands of $$. If your breaks are weak check your master cylinder and make sure you got enough fluid and that you are not loosing the fluid. If you notice you are leaking brake fluid because you have to keep filling it up but cannot find a leak anywhere. I bet I know where It is. Check your rear break lines and make sure one of them didn't get caught in your rear springs and pinched ever so slightly when you were doing dounuts In the snow.
Good luck,

Please check the a/c compressor clutch; it may be not working. FYI the compressor does not run all the time. It is the clutch that will cycle on and off to maintain a/c circuit pressure. To check, put the a/c on high and watch the compressor under the hood to see if it cycles.
