SOURCE: replace the rear wiper arm shaft

There is a plastic cover that pops off at the pivot end of the wiper arm. pulling up on this with a hook of some kind from the furthest end should release it. Under it you will find a nut that holds the wiper arm to the shaft. It's quite common for the nut to come loose and the shaft spins without moving the arm. Try tightening this nut (with the ignition on, be sure the wiper motor is off, then turn off ignition and put the wiper arm in the parked position). This is a common problem if you've ever tried to turn on the wiper when it was frozen to the glass.

How do I fix or replace the rear wiper motor

Hello,

  1. Disconnect the cable running to the negative terminal on the car's battery. To do this, loosen the nut on the cable clamp until the clamp is loose enough for you to slide the cable clamp off the negative battery terminal.
  2. Pull the wiper arm away from the rear windshield until the wiper arm locks into a vertical or semi-vertical position or is perpendicular to the rear windshield.
  3. Remove the nut holding the wiper arm assembly to the rear wiper motor.
  4. Pull the wiper arm off the wiper motor assembly.
  5. Unplug the rear wiper motor plug/harness.
  6. Remove the screws holding the rear wiper motor to the inside of the vehicle at the base of the rear window.
  7. Pull the rear wiper motor off.
  8. Install the new wiper motor and put the wiper motor and arm assembly back on the vehicle by reversing the completed steps.

Want to know the relationship between the rear trailing arm and the control arm. If you had the rear trailing arm fixed because of recall then 2 months later they say the control arm came loose and broke...

The recall for your vehicle may or may not have included replacement of the trailing arm. The recall says that the trailing arm is to be "inspected" then it will be replaced, or modified at the discresion of the person performing the inspection. If it was "replaced", it would require the control arms to be disconnected and reconnected. If it was only "modified" there would have been no disassembly of the control arms required. See the picture below. The picture shows the rear suspension parts. Notice that the upper control arm and the lower control arm bolt to the trailing arm. (which is what also houses the hub and bearing with the wheel speed sensor.) I hope this helps you to resolve your issue.

How do I change wiper blades 2001 Chevy blazer

Open the cap at the end of the windshield wiper arm at the cowl of the Blazer. This will reveal the bolt that secures the wiper arm to the wiper linkage.
Unbolt the wiper arm using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Place the bolt to the side, as you will reuse it later.
Pull the wiper arm up at the blade so that the blade of the wiper is pointing into the air. Then pull at the base of the arm, wiggling it slightly. It's a keyed gear, so it may take a little bit of workunderlined.png?1 to break it free, but with the right amount of wiggling, it will disengage.

    To Install:

        1. Tighten the nut. Torque to: 17 ft lbs (23 nm)
      • The cap on the wiper arm
      • The washer hose on the connector

    ---
The wiper motor hopefully is ok, but if the wiper arms were not mounted at the right spot, it could have damaged the motor as it returned to the rest position, unfortunately.

If there is noise, the noise could be coming from the wiper arm joint being stripped out or the motor itself assuming that the ball joints under the hood and behind the firewall are still connected.

Check these items, and I'm sure you will get to the bottom of this.

    Good luck on this repair.

Where is the fuel filter located on my 2004 Chevy Trail Blazer? WE

On 05+ Trail Blazer, the fuel filter is integral with the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank. It is a non-serviceable part. On 02-04s, the filter is on the drivers side frame rail at about the B-pillar. If your trail Blazer is a late 04 which means that it was build close to the 05 Trail Blazer, you may have a non serviceable fuel filter. Good luck and check under your Trail Blazer or look at your manufactured date sticker on the door which would help you indicate if your 04 is a early Trail Blazer and you'll have the fuel filter on the inside frame rail under the driver's door.
